Gallbladder Polyps

Sep 18, 2015 3:24 AM

So, I have pain daily mostly in the afternoons, I don't eat a particularly fatty diet but have been having pain in my middle right side extending sometimes to my shoulder and neck, that happens once/ twice a week, then the other tooth ache like and stabbing happens probably 3-4 times a day...like a nagging toothache.
Had a scan for gallstones, they found none but I have a polyp that they haven't commented on (GP asking for follow up). She doesn't know what the pain is caused by and what the next steps for me should be... So, I'm using this app to try and figure out whether there is a pattern...no eureka moments yet...!

Alibgood, if you have a polyp on your gallbladder it seems to me that they may want to remove your gallbladder altogether. I went through nightmares with mine for 2 years!! I ended up in the hospital 3 times (6 days, 8 days and 6 days). Finally, they discharged me yet again and I took all of my records to a general surgeon. Surgery was done within a week and I haven't had a problem since. I hope you get the answers you need. I would definitely check with another doctor and have them look over your test results and get another opinion. Welcome to the group and I hope you'll keep us posted as to how you are doing. You're in my prayers.🙏🏻🌻

Thank you, I'm glad you got a positive outcome
...I'm hoping they will do something, I think the doctor's concern is knowing they are doing the right thing. She said a polyp shouldn't cause pain, I've read that they can... Perhaps she wants to rule out any other causes first (NHS)? I have a follow up early next month but also have private healthcare to fall back on if needed...I've looked on the Internet and can't find any other likely cause.... Fingers crossed.

Alibgood, the pain you describe sounds like what I suffered for 3-4 years. It took multiple ER trips and years of documenting before my insurance would let me see a surgeon. He immediately took me for surgery and when he got inside my gallbladder was filled with stones and gangrenous. They said the OR nurse passed out. I've had no issues since and that was in 2013. I old you can get this resolved soon so you don't suffer unnecessarily. You'll be in my prayers. 🙏🌼
