Glycemic index help... Flown or anyone

May 20, 2016 1:51 PM

Flown, since you have much experience with glycemic index, I need help. I'm on this sugar buster diet until surgery Thursday. I was told to limit my career intake, but supposedly sweet potatoes are OK to eat. To me they naturally taste much sweeter than carrots. I'm suppose to limit myself to 3 g of sugar per meal, 5 meals a day (small). And I'm too eat 40% proteins for each.

Any good suggestions on what to eat or not eat? Much appreciated any help I get!!! 🙂💕🙏🌼

Flappy, one sec ill get you the info but you need to be really careful. Eating more than 110g of protein per day can cause health issues

You
can also download an app called "health tracker" it has tonnes of info on Glycaemic Index and ratings of foods, Antioxidants, heart healthy foods etc.

Personally, I don't like the sugar busters diet. I prefer a diet of 1500 calories that is 56% carbs 28% protein and 16%fat. You'll lose weight fast and then you slowly taper up your calorie intake when you are close to your goal

Thank you so much! I'll look for the app. I'm still on liquids from the hernia/esophagus surgery, having my first solid soft foods today. I'm barely getting 700-800+ calories a day, but I'm just not as hungry, and I'm filling up faster. I've lost 5.5 lbs in 2 weeks, but as I add more solid fold I expect that will level off. Hopefully not too soon though, as I could stand to lose some more. Lol😉. Thanks again! Hugs & love & prayers you're doing well! 🙂💕🙏🌼

Flappsy, I hope that you're healing well from the hernia, esophageal surgery!! I would imagine that those first liquids weren't very comfy to swallow. I hope that you are able to eat solid food easily. I hope that you are not too worried about your upcoming surgery. I know I've not been around with all the crisis going on in his neck of the woods but know that you're always in my thoughts and prayers my dear friend. {{{Hugs}}}💕🙏🏻🌻😊

Thanks AlwayZ! I know you and many others are dealing with a lot of different stressors right now, and you're all in my prayers. I tried eating scrambled eggs this morning but couldn't swallow without water. So I'm starting on liquids a few more days before trying soft foods again. But hey, I'm now down 7 lbs! 👏. Hugs & prayers & love to all for a good week ahead! 🙂💕🙏🌼
