Going crazy???

So, waited over a year to see pain specialist. After going through questionnaire I had filled out at home together he diagnosed Trapezius Myalgis. Prescribed medication, (can't remember the name) said he would put me on the waiting list for Botox injections and showed me an exercise to do. I asked him :" What about the pains in my arms and my legs? Do I have Trapezius Myalgia as well as Fibromyalgia? He proceeds to tell me he doesn't believe in Fibromyalgia. I ask him why my legs and arms are so sore, why am I constantly exhausted? Why can't I sleep at night and ? Why am I so forgetful at times? His answer???" Let's deal with one thing at a time. Let's get the neck and shoulder under control and then we'll look at the rest". I'm so frustrated - how can a qualified Doctor say an illness, syndrome, doesn't exist and dismiss the symptoms presented to him? After waiting so long to meet with this specialist I feel upset that what I believe, and my GP believes to be Fibromyalgia, is something this Dr isn't willing to consider, if only to prove us wrong. Anybody else experience anything similar and if so what did you do? Many thanks in advance.

I was having severe dizziness from a medication. It litterally said on the bottle from the pharmacy that vertigo was a common side effect. I complained to my doc, he said I was not on a high enough dose to have that side effect. BS, even after he made me repeatedly attempt walking around the room and I almost fell off the exam table when he had me sit with my eyes closed he insisted my symptoms were related to something else. I got a new doc the in the next 3 days. She switched my meds and in a week it was out of my system and the vertigo was gone. I had to go to 4 family docs, 3 emergency room docs, 2 chiropractors, and a dentist before staging a sit in at my mom's doc to get my Trigeminal Neuralgia diagnosis. If a doc won't respect my wishes and look into my concerns I will not see them again. Sometimes you have to keep trying new people for a long time.

It's all so frustrating- I mean do Drs think I choose to be like this? It's pure hell at times . Thanks for advice.

That's a total joke that a PAIN SPECIALIST "doesn't believe in it". Screw them.
