Got the all clear 👀

Jun 04, 2015 5:47 PM

Had my eye exam today, yearly and vision field baseline before using the Plaquenil for Sjogrens. Had a little change in my vision but not a lot. Since my glasses are scratched I'm going to get new lens with new rx.

The field vision and glaucoma tests were clear. My optic nerve and... (Forgot name) is healthy. She said I'm god to go on using plaquenil. Now I just have to wait for the rheumy doc to call it on. I sure hope it helps with this fatigue! 🙏🌼

Wonderful news! I hope you get the relief you are seeking!

Me to Scaryann. My hubby wanted me to go to Kroger with him but I just couldn't. The eye doc said she'll recheck my eyes yearly and after 5 years every 6 months. She said she's yet to see a plaquenil patient develop damage in their eyes, the biggest risk. I'm praying I won't be the odd ball patient! Lol They made me redo a test so until she told me it was good I was worried. 🙏🌼

I hope you don't decide to be the oddball patient too! I can only imagine how worried you were. It's so scary to have to redo a test.

I just hope the EGD they do in the morning has good results. I've complained of swallowing issues for 2 years. Had almost every test they could think of except this. I'm choking on foods (especially meats) and medication. Doc said it was just the GERD, but when he found out about the Sjogrens he changed and said it may be the cause, and of the IBS I've had for 15-20 years, can't remember when they dx it. So I'll be up at 5am to head to the hospital. I really hope I sleep. We all know just because our bodies are exhausted doesn't mean we will sleep. Wishing everyone a good night's rest and a much better day tomorrow. 🙏🌼

Flappys, That's wonderful news! Plaquenil has helped me a great deal!!!

Jun 05, 2015 11:45 AM

Flappsy, That is such wonderful news. I am glad that it worked out for you and I hope and pray that the medicine helps you tremendously. You deserve a much needed reprieve from things not working out. I am glad that your eyes are healthy and that you are cleared for this medicine. You have actually made my day by hearing such good news... God listens to our prayers

Scrappy, I'm anxious to start it. The rheumy doc said I should feel a big difference in the fatigue and possibly the pain too. If I had to choose one is prefer a fatigue reprieve because I can mostly function on pain days, unless extreme. But a reduction in both would be such a blessing! Now I'm praying I don't have any allergic reaction or sensitivity to it.

Yes He does AlwayZ, especially if we don't give up, have faith. I'm praying for reprieve for you and everyone else, each according to your needs. We may not get well, but with God on our side to help us through, and each other for support, who knows but Him what the future holds! 🙏🌼

Flappsy I am so excited for you. Hopefully you won't have any adverse reactions to it. You may be running circles around your hubby before long lol.

Jun 06, 2015 8:51 PM

Weezie I seriously doubt that. But if I can just hope out to go walking at the park with him I'll be thrilled!

The rheumy doc called in the rx for plaquenil today. I took the first 2, 200mg each tonight with supper. Hoping & praying! 🙏🌼

Flappsy I hope all goes well with the plaquenil, and there are no adverse reactions to it. Here's wishing you a good night hopefully as pain free as possible , sending you hugs .

Thanks everyone! Whether coincidence or not, after taking the plaquenil last night I had total bowel incontinence today (7x!!!). My granddaughter was here and it upset her with me having two severe accidents. I had to try and explain why and she did pretty well. When I showed her the waistband of the depends diaper she goes, "yeah, my big papa has to wear those!". I hope and pray it is not the med! I know the pelvic floor dysfunction is the highest cause because i can't control the anal muscles to hold of until i get to a toilet, and i have a numb abdomen from three abdominal surgeries, so i don't feel any warning cramps or rumbling like normal. It's horrible! 🙏🌼
