Got to go to a Pain Clinic

Jul 02, 2016 11:30 PM

Hi all.Ive got to go to a Pain Clinic. And I've been told by the Pain Nurse that I CANNOT take any Pain relief. Its for 2 days starting at 9am till 2pm.The first one is on the 5/7/2016 and the second one on the 7/6/2016.I don't think the Pain Nurses and doctors have a clue what Pain is.Ive been to one before and it was utterly useless.Sorry just had to rant

What's their reasoning for this?

Is this so they can get a baseline of what ur pain is without medication? I take my first lot at 7am when i rise... then the next at 1pm... so can u medicate at say 8am & 2pm and stil be able to function? Just an idea... it seems barbaric to assume u can just do nothing! Maybe call the nurse and ask? My pain team is wonderfull but i have had 2 other teams that were aweful... so i do understand. Try to keep an open mind and the bes of luck x

I never take any pain meds before I go to pain management. I want him to have an accurate assessment of how I'm feeling when I go for the appointment. I also will not take my meds when i have to drive. I wish you the very best and pray that you have a positive visit to the pain clinic. {{{Hugs}}}💕🙏🏻🌻😊

This sounds like what the Mayo Clinic pain clinic wanted me to do. But they wanted me to stay in their program for 21 days without pain meds. I think this is the new grad the pain clinics are going to because of govt regulations of meds. Hugs & prayers you get through this with a positive outcome! 🙂💕🙏🌼
