I am moving out of sunny Florida to Virginia no family no support up there at all. Starting grad school and adult life with out the help of a loved one to see me through on my really tough days. Bills, classes and health. Has anyone else been in this position if so how'd you do? My family thinks I'm crazy for running after my dreams inspite of this disease. They think I'm naive and don't understand the magnitude of it all and maybe I don't I have no real handle on it and every doctor visit is a dead end and more test. I refuse to stop living, I may have to slow down but I have to keep going...
There is a great quote: "Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss it, you will land among the stars." Don't let the pain take control of your life.
Regarding doctors I suggest going to a specialized pain clinic which follows a holistic approach. Most other doctors are specialized on one thing and usually prescribe one secific treatment although chronic pain should be treated on all levels simultaneously: meds, physical exercise, psychological support/coaching, adapting your life and learning to manage your pain.
Thank you! I will look into Pain clinics for sure. It's been so hopeless I've resolved in my mind there is no real relief. Just have to go until I'm forced to stop.. Then having to use mobility devices I feel guilty and defeated :_( it's tough the fight we fight
