Groin pain

Oct 03, 2018 6:17 AM

Hi all hope everyone is okay today.

I saw my orthopaedic surgeon yesterday regarding ongoing groin pain. My hip MRI was normal so there is nothing physical he could see that could be causing the issue.

He did mention that having DDD you do get referred pain and this might be what my pain is. Does anybody else with DDD have a similar issue or experience with referred pain? I have googled and it looks like it is a very common thing.

Any advice on how to deal with it would be greatly appreciated - it's mostly uncomfortable, like there is a lump in my groin but there isn't. Some day's it's just annoying but other days it's quite sore.

Thanks!

Haley, I have something called Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, and it causes a lot of pelvic floor & low abdominal & upper thigh pain (groin incl). I also have the DDD all down my spine. Internal muscle in the pelvic floor are my biggest cause of groin pain. I hope you get some relief soon! 🙂❤🙏🌼

Thanks FlappysLady81, I hadn't even thought of that even with my history of bladder problems 🤔 I'm going to read into that tonight when the kids are in bed. I'm seeing the urogynaecologist next week so I'll ask.

Thanks for the advice! Sending you love and prayers 🤗🙏🌹

Hi RobynG thanks for the reply. What kind of pain is it? I feel like there is a lump/bulge in my right groin all the time. Sometimes it's just tender other times it's really painful. I've had a groin exploration which showed nothing - no lumps, lymph node probs nothing. MRI of my hip was also normal. Is this similar to your pain?

Thanks
