They look for a combination of MS symptoms before they check by MRI once they found brain lessons they did a lumbar puncture. Mine Sx were: extreme fatigue, very blurred, double vision and dizziness, but everyone is different. That was in '02, now I have many more symptoms.
My Grandmother, my Mom's mom, had MS. She passed away at the age of 35 from complications, infected bed sores if I remember right. Mom's brother also had MS. He was in a wheelchair and unable to do anything for himself for many years before he passed away one year ago. Mom had a cousin also with MS, but after my Mom passed way in 1994 we lost contact with her cousin. So I don't know how she is faring.
Before I was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome hypermobility type I was being tested for MS. My other half and I would go hiking and for no reason at all my legs would just stop responding and I would fall on my face. Still don't know why I kept falling on my face, but since my knees and ankle have given out we don't hike anymore so I don't fall on my face anymore either.
