Have you noticed how cheap the additive drugs are?

Aug 01, 2016 11:14 PM

Ok, I was able to get my h-morphine refilled to day. I had to sign a paper promising to not abuse them and promising to report myself if I do. Ok, now how stupid has the FDA gotten now? Really, do you think if you were addicted to something you really would tell on yourself? That being my side point but made me laugh. The main point I want to make is have you noticed how cheap these drugs are. I got a bottle of 60 pills for under three dollars! But the patches I use are 70 dollars per box of 25. The patches are an n-said. Not addictive. They cost a so much so I skimp on using them. It seems to me that the pharmaceutical companies are trying to addict people. I can even get Xanax for less than a dollar for 30 pills. Yes, less than a dollar! What is ya'll take on this?

Hi Ze ⚘hope u r well today x

I am in the UK... and here the drug companies are allowed to sell their drug for 10 years, at top price, in order to recuperate the cost of clinical trials (that they had to do to get the drug approved)...

After the ten year patent for that drug is up... any drug company can produce said drug... which drives the price down to virtually nothing! At that point pills are more available for prescription by the GP... i wonder if it is the same across the pond with the FDA?

My fentanyl patches are still the most addictive... and expensive at about £100 for a box of 5!

Hugs 🤗

Lulabel, I believe that you're correct about the drug pricing. My heavy duty meds are less than $4 and I get anywhere from 90-150 pills for a month depending on the medication and dosage. Although, here in the US, when I went to fill a prescription for OxyContin, it wasn't covered, the cost for the 90 pills was $2,000!!! What a nightmare!!! Needless to say, they had to change my meds to something that was covered. 💕🙏🏻🌻

I guess the oxy-addict-abuser really has driven up the price for the rest of us. It sux in the USA... but the UK is following suit too. What did they rx u instead of the oxy hunni? X

Aug 02, 2016 6:44 PM

They put me on 100mg ER Morphine Lulabel

Aug 03, 2016 4:53 AM

Does the Morphine make you sick or nauseous?

Aug 03, 2016 5:03 AM

Just a thought...⚘a reminder 🤗

Keep an eye on constipation... we all need to keep things moving on these opioids... i take fibrogel every day... just dietry fibre and plenty of water to keep me regular. I know from experience that being bunged-up can cause mindful confusion 😉

Yes, if there is a patent on the said ingredients then the company can charge what tthey want. That being said, I have found that as soon as the generics come out the price of said generic is 3 times as high as when the original druf comes out. If use a steriod foam for itching. That foam cost me w insurance 78 a can. Then when the generics took over the foam is now 175 for a smaller can. Thus the idea that generics were to make them cheaper is hog wash. I can get a name brand of my naproxen cheaper than over the counter and the pharmacy generic, I simply ask for a certain brand and vola

Aug 03, 2016 3:20 PM

@zetarlov what do you have that causes itching?

Aug 03, 2016 3:26 PM

Aqua puridous, spelling is bad. Also, faliculitous.. the aqua is brought on by humitiy, etc and the falicis because of shaving the legs. The hair doesn't come out of the pores after being shaved and my pores don't open properly causing blisyers

Aug 03, 2016 3:32 PM

Interesting. I have always suffered from intense itching, often accompanying a shower, sometimes I have to just sit and meditate for half an hour so I don't scream/tear my legs off my body. No one ever offered me any kind of medication for it!

Aug 03, 2016 3:36 PM

They usually try to give you allergy tablets which I m allergic to, lol. They do not help and a dermatologist I had experienced the aqua and she gave me my first xanax script, then my moms gave her that foam, brand now is luxiq but it is the one that went generic and jumped in price.

Aug 03, 2016 3:44 PM

No they don't help. I presume the foam helps?

Aug 03, 2016 3:45 PM

Oh yeah! Instantly

Aug 03, 2016 3:47 PM

Oh but if you get carried away w it , it weakens the skin and you might bleed. No one warned me.

Aug 03, 2016 3:47 PM

I'll have to look into this.. I presume you mean aqua pruritis since that means water Itch...and this foam. To be able to get relief from that Itch is my whole life!

Aug 03, 2016 3:48 PM

Oh goodness that would have been a nasty surprise,

Aug 05, 2016 1:20 PM

Newty The Morphine does not bother my stomach at all and I can take it on an empty stomach and it still doesn't bother me.
Lulabel, I don't get constipated at all. I don't take anything for it either. I guess my body is just used to it. I remember going for pre-op tests and telling the nurse what I take and she said "OMG, I wouldn't shit for a month!! Don't you get constipated!!" I guess I'm lucky. {{{Hugs}}}💕🙏🏻🌻😊

Fancy, the best relief from the water itch is the xanax, but of the lowest dose I cut in half then try to cut that in half. . Too much of xanax makes me sleepy.

Lulabel, I just laughed so hard I started to dribble.. LOL!! I had that happen, I was stuck in traffic and couldn't get off the highway and finally I couldn't stand it any more. I got out of the car and before I could get to the bushes, I wet myself. Thank goodness I had a plastic garbage bag that I put on my seat. I was on my way for a 3 hour trip to see a Friend.
