Having a very bad day

Feb 11, 2016 11:09 AM

I wish my mom understood my pain and she is a retired nurse with fibromyalgia. I watch my 2 year old niece for her, I help with my aunt and her 3 year old daughter. And they are killing my body, I can I push thru with no pain meds or even the medicine I need to get me better. Now she wants my Rhuematologist to put me on the chemo medicine cause plaquenil is going to take too long.

I am so sorry for the situation that you are in. I don't know why, as a nurse, your Mom doesn't understand your pain. I commend your strength to do all that you do without meds for your pain. I can't imagine wanting to put you on a chemo drug that could have worse consequences than other meds. Has she done research on this medicine?? If you feel you can wait for your Planequil then stand your ground. I wish that there was something I could say or do to make it better. Sending you gentle {{{Hugs}}} and prayers that you get some resolution and have a more peaceful day.💕🙏🏻🌻

The chemo you refer too...is it methotrexate? That did actually help my joint pain. I was on it with Plaquinol. It seemed to be helpful for awhile. Everyone is different. Try to take a step back and breath. Hopefully everything will eventually work itself out soon. We have all been in your shoes at one time or maybe a few. The methotrexate side effects were not as severe as I imagined for me at least. Good luck. Keep us posted.

Thank you everyone for your advice and encouraging words. And no she wasn't familiar with plaquenil, she didn't know it could take 3 to 6 months before it works. She just trying to get me back working which I am a teacher. She doesn't think me on disability is not enough money to live off of. I understand that and I keep saying over and over that I want it for the insurance so I can see the 9 specialists I need to see and have the surgeries that I know I need and get the MRI done on my back. And get back to a new normal of life as much as possible.
