Eddie, I see that you have been seeing the doctor... It is a very long time to have a headache for over a year and a half. My question to you is, have you been to an ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat) Doctor?? I suffer from chronic migraines so I know that having a headache all the time is a nightmare. Have you had your sinuses checked out? (Scoped, CT, MRI?) The reason I ask this question is that generally with chronic headache and cough, there is some kind of post nasal drip causing the cough. Perhaps there are other folks here in the community that may have other thoughts or even experience in this matter. I hope that you find the help that you need. All the very best and good luck to you.
Eddie, I am so sorry that you have not gotten any relief. I was hoping that perhaps that I stumbled onto something that may help you. I am so sorry that I was not able to help. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Eddiepritchett, I'm sorry you are suffering with a constant headache. I too suffer migraines, but I have other headaches too.I use midrib for migraines, Tylenol x-strength elsewise. I have a scalp massager for the top of head pain & a Dr scholls wand massager that I can massage the upper back, neck & scalp with. I have rice in a tubesock in the freezer that I place wherever it's needed and I microwave it if I want it hot.
On the cough, do you have a dry mouth? I've had nearly 2 years of coughing that they've run tests for and finally said it must be my allergies. Recently my eyes nose, & mouth (throat included) have been dryer than normal. Blood tests showed Sjogrens b antibodies so they did a lip biopsy and it came back as consistent with sjogrens. When I life down at night my mouth & throat get extremely dry and I cough more. I think my cause is the sjogrens and not my allergies. I use throat sprays to moisten last night (found in store yesterday), and didn't cough as much. Maybe you could get some to try (CVS spray for dry mouth). Praying you'll find help soon. 🙏🌼
I'm sorry about your headache Eddie. I hope you can get some rest today. Do you wake up with headaches often? Does your doctor know? I can't remember what waking with headaches can mean but I was doing that and they did a sleep study on me. I snore because my tmjjoints are degenerating, causing my lower jaw to slip back when I'm on my back and narrowing my throat & causing my wake-up headaches. Lack of oxygen was cause of my headaches but they were looking for something else. Maybe someone else can fill in the blank. 🙏🌼
Sounds like you hit the nail on the head, Flappsy. Same thing with me. The TMJ joints are deteriorated to the point that if I lay on my back and fall asleep, the jaw slides back and causes snoring and lack of oxygen. I also used to get up with bad headaches every morning. Since I have not been able to sleep in a bed for almost ten years, I dont have that situation any more, However, when I go to a friend's house, I have no choice but to sleep in a bed and then it becomes difficult. Eddie, I hope you find the answers you need to help you out and that your day goes well and your headache eases.
Pain/muscle strain/nerve problems in neck can cause headache and sore throat. Maybe it's your neck and not your head. Migraines can be cervicogenic. I had a sore throat for a long time, and found out it was my neck.
Starrynight, I think you're who told me about the cervicogenic headaches. Some of mine start as those and if I don't treat early enough it also gives me a migraine Eddie, could this be what's going on? Google cervicogenic headaches. Hope you've had some relief! 🙏🌼
I went to pain management and was told this go around that I have cervicogenic headaches. I usually don't catch them in time because I sit and hope that they will ease up if I try to get comfortable. The problem is they don't and then I end up with a horrible migraine. It sucks..... I feel so bad for anyone who has this problem.
