Headache, neck pain, everything you can think of

Jun 25, 2016 3:06 AM

Since December of last year, I have noticed these swollen lymph nodes on my neck. They were painless so I decided to just ignore them. In January, the areas around the lymph nodes started to ache & be sore so I went to the doctor. I had been having fatigue & headaches as well. The doctor tested me for anemia & mono and I was negative for both. But he still referred me to a new doctor bc he was worried about my lymph nodes.

So fast forward a few months of going back and forth to new doctors (Late April) and they finally found me a immunologist at Children's Hospital. She has examined me more times than I can count, done blood tests, CT scans, measured my lymph nodes, asked me tons of questions, but she still can't figure out what's wrong with me.

Lately I have been getting extremely bad headaches and my scalp will start to sting or have sharp pains in my head. I have been losing a lot of weight for someone my size (I'm close to 100lbs). My parents have noticed that my neck has been swelling more than usual. I sleep all day, almost every day. I'm scared its cancer. Because my doctor said they can't rule that out until I have a biopsy.

What could it be? Everyone is so confused and I'm really scared.

ash99, I'm so sorry you are going through this. I know you are scared....and I know the doctor visits can be daunting. Just remember, they are trying to do their best. Some cases take longer than others to figure out. Don't loose hope. I will pray that The Lord will guide the doctors and that He will give you the strength to overcome this trial in your life. I will also pray that HE will place HIS healing hands upon you and HE will give you the comfort you need. Take care ash99, GOD has you and HE will never let you down....depend on HIM.

I know you are scared. I wish I could give you some kind of clue as to what is going on. Keep getting up and breathing in and out...go back to your doctors...they will eventually find out and put you on the proper treatment plan. It is hard not to let fear run your life at this point, you are young , still learning this thing we call...Life. So, from an ole momma, let me help sooth your mind and settle your fears. You are strong enough to handle whatever this is, that is controlling your brain right now. You will get through this. Keep talking , keep venting, keep feeling, and just take one step at a time. Love and Blessings,Terri

Ash, we don't always know what we are fighting but e eventually the answers will come. Doctors have to solve the puzzle by following the symptoms and test results. Sometimes it's easy for them and at others it is not. It's normal to be afraid this may be cancer & many of us have been scared of the unknown. But you don't have to feel alone. We are all here for you. And as Tense said, God is watching over you so trust in Him for strength & courage. You are stronger than you think, and you've got all of us to talk to and hold you up. Sending you hugs & prayers! 🙂💕🙏🌼
