Heart pain

Jan 04, 2015 10:40 PM

I'm having a pretty sharp pain under my left breast. I have svt and small vowel leak but nothing to serious. I'm kind of short of breath and getting a little worried. My heart isn't beating any different than usual. What do you guys think

Always get it checked out. Especially if it's new

Two words: Good cardiologist. Your SVT can change depending on where it is coming from. Typically SVT is benign but without a good Electrophysiology mapping you cannot be sure. Also depending on which valve is leaking it may be a problem. Yes, you just stumbled into my degree speciality.

I have a great cardiologist, thank goodness. I haven't been in a few months since my last check up but I'm thinking about calling tomorrow. Last visit I told him about chest pain I was frequently having and he said it was nothing to worry about and my hurt looked great. But now the pain is sharper and in a different spot. And good glad you commented!

Good plan. If you have not had an EP test you need one. I am willing to talk to you more if you want to give me an email I will send you my phone number. We really need a way to private message on the site. Set up a junk email account so everyone here does not have your main account if that is what you would like to do. Web MD has lots of good information on SVT and valves. I am here for you. I can break down your questions to any level.

Ashleyn, Everyone's advice is great. See your cardio doc. I too have the svt, which I didn't have until last Feb. I went to see my cardio because of the exact symptoms you describe, and it would occur with sudden sharp pain that made it difficult to breathe in deep. That's when they found the svt, but luckily the culprit for me wasn't my heart...it was costochondritis. Maybe it will be something not related to your heart and not severe for you too. I'll say a prayer for you!

I have sharp pains in my left rib area just about non-stop. Mine is caused by fasciculations. It goes back to my muscles and tissue is working overtime to compensate for my weakened spine.
