Heat and cold sensitivity?

Jul 16, 2016 8:17 AM

Anyone react badly to heat and or cold? Its winter here i Australia. Some nights it might only be 5 degrees but i shiver so badly sometimes i cant stop shaking. We have a gazillion blankets on the bed but i just cant warm up. My feet get so cold they hurt and hubs bought me thermal socks which help.

Laalaa, I'm in country Victoria, and I know what you mean. I'm always freezing cold, and it is so difficult then to handle being in pain.

I don't know if they are available where you are but toe warmers and hand warmers are my best friend.
When my feet get cold they won't warm up without an external heat source. And the cold travels up my legs into my knees and hips and makes them burn and ache. I try really hard to never let them get cold and if they do I use the toe warmers if im out and if im home and have time i have a hot bath. I never go bare feet and I wear gloves if i need something out of the freezer.
Heating pads are a good investment if you don't already have one.

I can't stand the heat I over heat really fast and yet I have Raynaud's so I lose circulation in my fingers and toes in the cold. Part of lupus. We're in summer here in Alberta Canada.

I get severe reactions to cold and heat. For the heat I use a hat, sunglasses, and a cooling headband. (I'm surprised the cops don't pull me over for looking suspicious)
In the winter, I use as many blankets as I need, plus sweatshirts, plus I always keep heaters and acs on.
I am allergic to heat and cold.
Hope that is helpful. Sounds tough. Hope you feel better soon! Hugs!!

Laalaa, yes, I have a problem with both. When it's summer, I can't deal with extreme heat and when winter comes I can't get warm (I was a person who could go out in short sleeves with no coat in the snow and run errands). Now I shiver and the colder I get and the more I shiver the more my muscles spasm and my pain skyrockets. I put blankets on, then I begin to sweat and then take the blanket down and get chilled and have to put it back on. Then I end up hot and cold at the same time!!
(I'm also 51 and menpausal). I hope that the symptoms ease up for you. Hang in there, you're not alone. {{{Hugs}}} 💕🙏🏻🌻😊
