Dec 09, 2016 11:50 AM

Well went to the doctor's office today because I have been feeling miserable and constant coughing and green gunk coming up with it, well I have once again bronchitis and he brought along a new friend called pharyngitis. Antibiotics, cough medication and an inhaler alone with Mucinex DM. I am so tired of this stuff! I am Thankful that it's not phenomena!

Oh no sjogrenspain77, you need to take things easy for a while to help you to try a get over this quickly.
You might find drinking a cup of hot water with a couple of wedges of fresh lemon and a spoonful of honey (I normally add a couple of cloves and cinnamon as well) helpful as the honey will help soothe your throat with all the coughing and the lemon give you a boost to your immune system with vitamin C.
Maybe some steam inhalation with some olbas oil or eucalyptus oil might also help clear some of your congestion. Sorry if you've tried all this before but I've found this seems to help me get over chest infections, colds and flu along side the meds.

Touch wood, both me and my daughter have had the flu jab (flu vaccine) a few weeks back and we've only had the sniffles but my son seem to be all out cold....coughing, sneezing, blocked sinuses etc... he was that bad last night he asked for some paracetamol, he never asks for medication unless he's bad, but he still got up and went to school today.....he's only 14 so he's a bit young for man flu to affect him yet!!!!

I hope you're able to get over this quickly and I'm sending watm healing hugz and positive vibes to you xx

I'm going have to get a facemask and wear it at home, as everyone my step daughter is now coughing and my daughter's sick again. I'll never get rid of it. Facemask it is! Woke up this morning and my throat was more sore than it has been. I went to bed early and got up at 10am.

Was hopeful you were feeling better. Take care of yourself!

Sjogrenspain77 when you're not well your body needs the rest to try and fight off the viral infection and to heal so if you feel you need to take a break and sleep for a bit then do it, you don't want to make yourself more I'll and end up in hospital.
Rest up and stay hydrated, listen to your body and if everyone is ill as well then maybe invest in a few face masks!
Sending you warm healing hugs xx

I ended up going back to see my doctor today, got a shot of Rocepheine in my hip and new cough medication and new antibiotic's to try and combat the bronchitis. Lungs are sounding a little bit better today so that's some good news. He did tell me that since I am having such a hard time fighting it off and because I have a compromised immune system and the fact that I can't get the flu shot since I am allergic, that it is best that I wear the facemasks that I have been wearing.

It's good you're feeling a bit better but don't try to push yourself too much, you still need to take things easy, rest up and stay hydrated.
Do as your doctor says and wear the face masks even if it means you have to wear them in the supermarket and at home.
Sending you positive vibes and warm protective healing hugs xx

Thanks sezzy, everyone in my house is better so I can go without it at home but I wear it if I have to go out. Tomorrow I have to go to the school and decorate for the breakfast with Santa. And then I got to be back at the school early Saturday morning at like 6 am and there till it end's most likely 12-12:30 to clean up. I can't get out of this as I am a committee member and this is part of what I have to do. But guarantee you that I will be taking it easy before I go and after all is said and done. The new cough medication that I was given really seems to work, so that is a plus ad it gives my chest time to recoup some and stop hurting from all the coughing.

That's great news that everyone is better at home. It must feel good to not be coughing as much, I can imagine the relief your feeling.
Just be careful at the school and try to delegate and supervise so you don't push yourself too much.
As you're going to be at the shool with lots of children, will you wear your facemask? At this time of year a lot of kids will have colds and sniffles.
Are you helping to serve the kids as well or are you just in the background until it's time to tidy?
If you are going to be around the kids I think it would wise to wear a face mask while you're there.

I hope you all have a great time and that the kids feel happy and excited to see Santa xx

Today is just the set up and tomorrow is the event, I will be wearing my facemask Anytime I go out as my doctor told me that with my allergy to the flu shot just makes me more susceptible to getting sick this time of year.

I will have my own station at the event tomorrow, thier will be games, a letter to Santa station (my station) a selfie booth and of course the breakfast with Santa and pictures with Santa. I have a pretty fun station lol of course it was my idea to write letters to Santa, even though he was going to be thier lots of kids have a "list" of things or are afraid of his lap.. lol when my kids were little they wouldn't go anywhere near Santa's lap or Santa!😅
