Help Finding Work

Jan 25, 2017 1:21 PM

I have EDS type 3 and I have a really hard time working, but, obviously, I need an income. I'm not bad enough to receive disability benefits, but I'm also not healthy enough to work any typical jobs. My last job was as a phone representative at Press Ganey (a medical surveying company), where I could stand and sit as I needed, and I could change my hours if I truly needed. It was an amazing job, and yet still it was too much for me. I often wasn't able to even go into work because I had to stay in bed, or because I got sick. So now my goal is to have a stay at home job that I can do online. I am working with vocational rehabilitation services (vrs) to find a job, but I was wondering if anyone here had any ideas?? Please and thank you!!!

Bethanylayne, Im sorry I don't have any suggestions. I've not worked since 2010. I know there are at home jobs out there. Hopefully others will have suggestions. Wishing you all the best with love hugs & prayers! 🙂💕🙏🌸

Thank you. I've been out of work since august, but I'm really needing to find work. I'm living with my sister and her husband and they are getting restless. I'm on SNAP, but they hardly give me enough money to buy the food I need for the diet the doctor put me on. I always have to go to my parents to ask for money to just get food for the month, and they pay all of my bills. It's getting really difficult to depend on everyone else

Have u tried taking to a disability lawyer? Or even applied? If u can't work a full time job reliably then u should have a chance to qualify

I don't know your qualifications but have you looked at sights like Flexjobs.com
With them there is a few but it's a legit company. Has been in a few trade magazines.

Have you checked into food stamps and other county or city benefits.

Hapytoseethesunrise: I talked to my GP about disability, but she believes I can still work, so there's not much of a chance getting that.
Mimikay: I haven't ever seen that, thank you! I'll definitely take a look.
Bear: I do have food stamps, we call it SNAP, but there's (to my knowledge) nothing else available to help me that I qualify for.
