Can you see a different doctor? Or will the current one explain why no meds if you have a fracture?? That seems odd. Or could a family member go with you to an appointment and speak on your behalf that the pain needs to be better managed?
I agree with Gardener, KS1973. Can you add a over the counter pain reliever with your pain med? I'd let the doctor know you're doing it but you need relief. Why do they always think people are drug seeking? My doctor is always checking to see how much pain meds I am taking...doesn't want me to get addicted, or abuse them. I do not have an addictive personality...and I probably suffer more than I should because I do not want to become addicted myself.
I have an L5 that is trying to escape through my back. I got some Ty3, which is usually enough, but on really bad days I use a TENS. It's not a cure, but I can do the shopping without crying or falling! You can get them on Amazon. The one listed as the #1 bestseller is a fine machine, and currently about $30. They interrupt the pain signals. Slap it onto the muscles next to the spine where it hurts and play with the settings until you find one that is comfortable for you. Mine is nearly 20 years old and I adore it!
