I like essential oils for their calming effects, diffusing doTerra's serenity blend is my favorite thing, I do it almost every night. Lemongrass oil is supposed to be really good for pain but I haven't seen too much of a difference in it. I've only had lemongrass oil for about a week though. I have mostly muscular pain from muscles that refuse to relax, but diffusing a relaxing oil helps me sleep.
I use lavender spray and give a little spritz on my pillow case... other times when I wash my hair, I use 100% pure lavender oil in my hair and let it dry and then it smellls nice all day and is soothing to me.
Kitty66, it's very hard. I had to give up makeup, perfume, candles, potpourri, scented bath wash, shampoo, and detergent. If I go out in public I have to avoid these areas in stores. I actually collapsed in church one Easter Sunday and had to leave because of the many ladies perfumes. I carry a mask in my purse at all times.
