Hi I am new too this my doctor has told me I may have fibromyalgia and has refered me to a rhumatologist I am on 40mg off amatriptaline on a night time but am in constant pain amongst other symtoms today is a bad day and I am feeling fed up and lost but was told by family that they wouldn't let it beat them and just too take paracetamol most of my friends don't bother with me now and I am about too lose my job how do I get through this?
Can you take fmla at work to protect you when you need to take days off? At least you won't lose your job. Next, talk to doc about your pain and pain management. Be very direct and keep a journal, hope you are able to find relief and peace of mind :)
Hi what is fmla? Doctor gave me amatriptaline 40mg at night I've been back and forth saying it isn't working they then put me on Co drydamol that has made me ill and doesn't touch the pain I now have two weeks till next appointment and am off sick from work at the minute and they don't think I will be able to do it due too the type of work
Welcome Frog! FMLA is Family Medical Leave Act, which is only available to fill time employees and protects their job up to 12 weeks if they need medical leave. Not all employers offer it, especially small businesses. Talk to human resources or your boss.
I'm sorry to hear you aren't coping very well. Have you tried doing gentle stretches & warm showers to loosen up? Exercise of any kind releases endorphins that fight pain. I can't exercise much but i do what i can. Others on here talked about it so i began trying by walking and stretches. I'm now in PT for my OA hip and it's helping the trigger points too. Also consider seeing a pain specialist, as there are other meds that might help; pain meds, muscle relaxers, pain ointment for trigger points, etc.
Not everything works for everyone, so if one thing doesn't work, try something else. Hugs & prayers you'll find your best coping methods! 🙂💕🙏🌼
