Weddinfshore200, I am praying that your response will be positive. I seen a new PCP this week who specializes in Chronic diseases and I was a bit disappointed because she did not meet my expectations. I was hoping I would not have to go to the pain center anymore and I would reduce some of the doctors I seen... kind of one stop care... but no ... that wasn't the case. I have spinal stenosis and degenerate disc disease.... they did a MRI and CT Scan of my back to find that out. I need surgery but have not decided on that yet. Glad you had a nice trip to Florida. I wish I could take a vacation somewhere. Maybe later down the road. Stay positive and hopeful. Blessings.

Hey Shore, I'm glad your trip to Florida was enjoyable & relaxing. I hope some day I'll get to take a trip, maybe after my hip replacement heals. I know it's frustrating dealing with doctors & chronic pain issues especially, because there really isn't much they can do but treat the symptoms. Try and stay positive, and find ways to reduce your stress & symptoms. We can all hope that some day they will find a better way to handle chronic pain issues, besides the old "brush off" attitude. I think that's what builds our tolerance because not only do we have to deal with the pain, we have to deal with the not really concerned doctors. Hopefully today's appointment goes better than you expect. Hugs love & prayers! 🤗💞🙏🌺

@ MySistersKeeper, I'm sorry to hear you got the spinal stenosis and DDD diagnoses! Take your time deciding on surgery; don't get pressured into it. Hugs love & prayers!🤗💞🙏🌺

Shore, glad to hear that you had a great time while in Florida. Yes it is frustrating enough to deal with the daily pain only to have your doctor right you off as there’s nothing they can do.
MySistersKeeper, love that name. I hear your frustration with your doctor. I’d like to downsize on the number of specialist that I see. I think they like not having to treat your pain issues as well. My PCP sent me to a pain specialist once my MRI’s revealed many issues with my spine as well ( thoracic/lumbar stenosis and severe DDD etc. it’s not like years past when your family doctor took care of all your health issues. I think they don’t want the burden.
FlappysLady, your right they really don’t care. My doctor just said
“your case is to complicated”. I thought that’s what he was for? I agree don’t rush into any surgery. Sending {{🤗}} to everyone. 💜🦋
Been a difficult couple of days. Ran out of my arthritis meds and don’t have any money until Monday. So I’ve gotta tough it out. Long night ahead I fear. Love to all. 💜👵

Sorry shore, meant “write you off” oh on a positive note: didn’t have to pay any taxes. Will get a decent return. Already spent for bills.☹️

I'm afraid that my spine doc is going to say the same to me, and turn me over to pain management. I have to stop my plaquenil that I take for sjogrens, because of my upcoming surgery. The last time they stopped it (it can cause bleeding issues) I went into a severe flare up of all over joint pain attacks from the sjogrens, and it flared my fibromyalgia too, for 6 weeks! As much as my bad hip pain is right now, I'm really dreading a very likely flare up of the sjogrens & fibro pain on top of the hip pain. I have a preop appt on Thursday and I plan to ask them how best to handle it if it happens this time. I may be in a rehab facility a few weeks postop, and I have no idea how they even do meds. I dont even think they're going to allow me to use pain relief ointments.

Oh my! I sure hope they can give you something to manage any pain. Good luck on your upcoming surgery. It’s good you’ll have rehab even if it’s away from home. They will be able to help you and hey no cooking 🥘 😁 Hopefully your Fibro and Sjogrens will behave and let you heal. I wish you the best. 🌸🦋🙏

My mom was in a rehab for her hip and they administered her pain meds as ordered.

Feb 01, 2020 9:59 PM

That's good to know. I'm going to ask if he can do the patches for he first 2-4 weeks, since I have to stop the plaquenil and it will ramp up all over pain.

I understand I too have been on Plaquinil. They put me on Arava now and because of $ issues I wasn’t able to buy mine for 3 days ( now) and my arthritis etc have ramped up so I understand your concern. Address these issues with the surgeon as post op meds. 🦋

I plan to because I dont know how I'll control the pain otherwise.
