Hi all!! Joey from IL here! Going through a crazy Costocondritis flare up, ribs, and just needed little pick me up's. Meds don't work well & I feel like I'm loosing my mind. Chronic pain from this, RA, Fibro & bad TMD makes some days just questionable.

Hi Joey! Welcome to the community. Does heat help? Soak in tub with 1-2 cups Epsom salt. Heat pad or blanket helps some people. Magnesium and vitamin D and some others help some people. I went glutin free and it cut my pain in half. Others will be on to tell you what helps them.

Costoconditis makes everything SO MUCH WORSE. Seriously, I hate it so much. Hit some major anti-inflammatory meds along with some hefty muscle relaxants. Moist heat helps me, too. I use a rice heating pad as the heat and the weight both seem to help. When I'm in a flare and I have costocondritis, I focus on getting the Costo under control first because it's so miserable not to even be able to breath without pain. My doc said to be sure to speak evenly as yelling can make costo get a lot worse and make it last a lot longer. Emu oil lotion has helped a bit, as do magnesium baths.

For my RA and fibro I focus on eating foods that do not support inflammation. It's taken a couple of years, but my inflammation markers were a 2 last time I blood tested. Google 'alkaline foods' and 'foods that feed inflammation'. Changing my diet was by far my best decision for my long term and short term health.

I'm so sorry you're experiencing these things together. It's truly miserable. Hang in there.

Hi! Went to my acupuncurist today. Told her about my ribs & where it hurts & how I bruise easily & Costo meds aren't really helping. She said I don't have Costo, but a spleen qi deficiency & thoracic spinal issues. She cracked my ribs 3 times & omg what sweet relief!!! I go again on Saturday, I'll ask her questions then.
