I'm sorry for your situation. Generally hives occur from allergic reaction or extreme stress. I would imagine that the stress of being in a really bad Lupus Flare could bring them on. Have you called or gone to the doctor to confirm that you do, indeed, have hives?? My doctor wants me to get tested for Lupus and I'm a bit scared to find out. My head says DO IT and the Fraidy cat side says, what does it matter. I've already got so many diseases causing chronic, widespread pain, why bother to even know. I DO know it's important to know what's going on but it's not going to fix anything. I hope you feel better really quickly and that the welts shrink down and stop hurting so much

Hives are also part of fibro from what ive read. Also hypothyroidism manifests with hives. Hives are a nerve reaction.

I'm sorry ChiChi! I don't have Lupus so I can't know what you're going through. I'll say a prayer for you that this flare will end soon.

I have fibro and hashimoto's thyroiditis. I get a rash and hives they seem to travel around my body and usually the rash starts first. When the rash and hives start the severe joint pain comes on where I feel like they will explode. I use all the same products which I buy a large quantity at a time incase ingredients change. I pretty much eat the same everyday. I can not figure out what is bringing it on. I cant find anything to help the hives and sometimes I use those gel cold packs on them which is a little relief.
