Anyone positive for this gene? I have been diagnosed with HLA-B27 spondyloarpathy. I also have scoliosis and TMJ. My pain is random and threw out my body. I can't find much info one this auto immune disease, wondering who else deals with this condition.

I am HLA-B27 (Human Leukocyte Antigen B27) positive, but so far it looks like I don't show any evidence of any of the associated spondyloarthropathies (as determined by a rheumatologist). My understanding is that many people who do have specific spondyloarthropathies (Ankylosing Spondylitis, for example) test + for the antigen, but testing positive does not necessarily mean the person will be affected by the autoimmune diseases commonly associated with it (psoriasis, inflammatory bowel disease, Reactive Arthritis and AS).

I'm still in the process of figuring out where my lower back pain is coming from (I have multiple issues, including a nerve sheath tumour in my sacrum), so I'm not really much help here with regards to HLA-B27 pathology experience - I just wanted to let you know you're not alone in having been found HLA-B27 +.

Just got back from my dr, he said I have HLA-B27 soon dollar the okay by, he said if I get worse and my spine starts to fuse it will be AS. Getting ready to start infusions at the hospital.
