Horrible PAIN

Apr 07, 2015 6:59 AM

Morning to night pain all over and new medication is not working. Tingling feeling in fingers throbbing pain in my neck, Sharp pain down both legs , pain in back and occipital neuralgia is hitting hard. I can't get rest in whatever I do .I feel like I'm losing my mind and function within myself. I don't know what to do or how to approach any symptoms from here.

Pumkin85, I wish I could give you some advice, but I don't have any at this point. I can tell you that I completely understand where you are coming from though. I am up from a night of five, very broken, hours of sleep myself from pain. As with you pain meds do not touch it. I hope you can find a way to get some real rest soon.

Pumkin, I'm sorry for your pain levels. Do you have any type of muscle relaxers you can take? If you could get your body to relax some it might lower the pain just a bit. If you don't have any meds try a warm bath or shower, and also a dark room with soothing calm music. When my headaches get that bad I have to resort to these methods, even with my meds. I'll say a prayer for you & Scaryann both. 🙏🌼

Thanks ScaryAnn. I hope you are able to do the same, although I know it's hard.

FlappysLady81 I have tried that with the warm bath and quiet room. NOTHING is helping. Usually I am able to get some relief with a cold compress on the back of my head but for some reason that made it worse. I've never had the stinging burning pain the way it is now and the aura is nothing like I've experienced. I'm completely overwhelmed right now to top it off I have an 8 year old who's adhd and he's not understanding that I can't play with him at this time and I haven't been for 2 days now. He's upset and I just don't know what to do.

If I were you I'd go to the ER for an injection. When mine get as bad as you've described that's all I can do.

Pumkin85 I agree with Flappsy, do you have family who could take your son for a few days and take you to the ER then back where you can sleep and maybe relax for a few days.

Have you tried chewing kava kava? It can help relax me, even when I'm close to insane. Good luck!

Ferretbandit I have not tried kava kava. What is it?

Weezie12 I do have family but giving the severity of my child's adhd I don't ask them for much help because honestly they don't understand the illness, this is our first time dealing with this so it's new to all of us.

Pumkin85 I don't mean to sound ugly by no means. But there's no time like the present to ask for more help. What will you do if you wind up in the hospital, at least if you start now if that was to happen they would be used to each other maybe they could stay at your house where he feels secure, at first then let him spend the night. When my daughter was 5 yrs old she had to stay in a in patient hospital to be diagnosed with learning disabilities. It nearly killed me, because I couldn't go and see her or talk to her over the phone but 2 x a week. It was terrible for her more so than me because when I would have to leave her they would have to peel her off me screaming bloody murder please don't leave me. It was terrible, I stayed strong until I got out the door and cred the 30 miles home.

Pumkin85, kava kava is a name I've heard for the root of the Kava plant. My dad buys it at the health food store. It's used for relaxation and pain relief.
My sister takes it because she has really bad periods, and I take it when my pain is making me nauseous, or I can tell I'm beginning to hallucinate.
Kava kava comes in capsules, but it works better if you chew the pills or make a tea out if it. It will also make your mouth numb, so sometimes it's better to have just the capsules.
Good luck finding something that works!
