Hot peppers and cracked hands

Sep 13, 2016 11:10 PM

I was stupid and prepped the jalapeños for the pesto my boyfriend was making for me without wearing gloves. Didn't even think of gloves, we don't do peppers very often.
I did make the mistake of rubbing near my eye but that pain has faded. And I have washed my hands several times and i showered tonight. However I think i just spread the pepper oils to the rest of my hands. They are burning so bad right now. Olive oil and ice and they still hurt. Removing my contacts was less than fun.
My supper was tasty, it had a good flavor but was way to spicy.
I'm hoping this burning in my hands calms down soon so I can get a couple hours of sleep before I have to be back at work.
And i still haven't done dishes. 🙁

I had jalapeño pizza for dinner and then took put my contacts so I feel your pain. Try submerging your hands in a bowl of milk?

I wrapped my hands in ice packs and went to bed. Got some sleep but not lots

It was so spicy. Even my brother said the pesto was excessively spicy, and we'd used less jalapeño than the recipe called for.

Lunch today was better, it had more than just tomatoes to cut the spice. Tomato, zucchini and steak in my pesto covered pasta.
Too bad I'm still hungry

Well, your hands will stop burning soon but I can say that tomorrow something else will be burning and you'll be saying What the hell did I eat?!?!?! LOL!!!😜😉😳

Can you say burning ring of fire!? 😂
I'm really hoping that it's not too bad tomorrow.
