How can I get rid of scoliosis pain

Mar 22, 2016 6:49 PM

So I'm going to a road trip soon and when I sit or lay down for too long my back starts to hurt like hell and I need some meds that actually work because my doctors prescribed meds aren't working

I have found that it is very necessary to rotate my muscle relaxers or they stop working for me. I also use inversion to relax my lumbar spine. My rod starts in my C-spine and all of my T -spine is fused. I understand sitting in one position all day. It is very painful to say the least. I think for me hanging upside down like a bat does more to help than any medication ever has. Also I don't know if this happen to you but I often get huge muscle knots, softball size. Long hot baths with several cups of Epsom salts also massage whenever possible. Hope you get some relief :)

Hi Scolilife, maybe movement breaks when you can or time them out. Get out of the car and walk around it or do some stretching. Do you have a reasonable back, butt and leg support? You can use rolled up towels or blankets wrapped by duct tape. I use my Rolled up yoga mat or pillows. And remember to have neck supported. If you drive it can help distract you. Watch the view, how many cows, bridges, semi's, different licence plates. This drives my family bonkers. But it is better than me being a grump.
Keep moving as much as possible.
Hope you can enjoy the ride and time away,
