Hurricane update

Oct 12, 2016 2:29 PM

Just wanted to let everyone know that me and my family are ok. Our power went out Saturday and our yard was so flooded that my sister had to come pick us up and we had to walk thru 4 feet of water to get out to the road. I live in the country which is just a few mins from Fayetteville NC. Our whole city of Fayetteville has suffered major flooding and damages. People have lost their homes like my brother in law mothers house was completely under water. Children are out of school all week so far. The water is polluted and have to be boiled. Lucky for us our drinking water comes from the well and still goes thru a filtering. And in the midst of it all still suffering with this kidney stone. We are also lucky that the water did not reach our house. I have never seen Fayetteville in this much devastation in all the years I have lived here. Praying for everyone affected by the Hurticane. Especially Haiti, they lost so many lives. I just wanted to let everyone know since we just now got power, cable and internet back on.

So glad you are ok. And, yes this is a terrible time for so many. We keep them in our thoughts & prayers.
We have a big storm coming tomorrow with very high winds & several inches of rain. Today Oregon had 2 tornadoes at towns on the ocean. Scary times. Take care.

Pained lady, are you guys far enough away from the Cape fear river? Don't want you to be endangered when the river crests if it hasn't already.

Silvrrry - are y'all doing ok today with the storms?

Amanda, no we are less than 5 mins away from the river. But it has started to go down now thank God cause then we would be in a mess.
