Hurts to Live and Breathe

Oct 28, 2016 7:25 PM

Bilateral L2-3 injections this Am. Live for that 1st hour after with ice and bed.. After that, want to get outside of my Body and Mind!!! 😭

By the way.. My pain picture is completely dark red!! Not sure where my "body double" came from! Definitely different day and life!!

Am so sorry. Were they steroid injections? I sure hope it eases up for you and that tomorrow is a better day.

Mich60, I know how that feels. Just had Facet joint injections on the left side from C4-T1. When the lidocaine wore off, it sucked big time and I can't use ice or I go into spasm. It goes away soon enough although not pleasant to deal with. For some reason this time I swelled up and got bruised.. The final kick in the ass is that they didn't work... LOL!!! Oh happy dau😜🙄 At any rate, I hope you feel better soon, it'll be ok, it will be. Sending well wishes and positive vibes your way.💕

Thanks all! Woke up from a heavily medicated "sleep" and I do feel better today-improvement anyway. Afraid to do too much. I know what that ice spasms Alwayzinpain, when dealing with my neck issues, cold outside would put me into agonizing spasm and pain! Ice has not been my favorite go too.. But for this area of my back, it helps!
Yep steroids, with the level being higher than my prior surgeries it triggers every nerve in all of the levels below. I don't usually feel so bad so fast! No amount of medication to take care of nerve pain! Lucky? To be alive this am for trying to find the right cocktail. I should know better!
Hoping everyone finds a good groove today!

Alwayzinpain, I m so sorry your facet injections didn't work! They did nothing for me either. Have you had any radio frequency nerve ablation done? My doc thinking about that in my thoracic spine.

Oct 29, 2016 10:57 AM

Mich60, I've not had it done. He said if the injections worked this time that was the next immediate step. I had such high hopes and a positive outlook for relief and it was a disappointment that it didn't. It's ok though, I knew there was chance because I've had them work and have them not. I'm gearing up for a MAJOR cervical surgery that I posted in another thread. I'm hoping that will better after it's done. I can only do what I have to to MAKE it better and cross my fingers for the rest. Thanks though. I'm sure that others in here have had the ablation done. They'll be along to let you know. {{{Hugs}}}💕

Oh! Alwayzinpain, I have high hope and positive vibes for you your upcoming surgery! I have had 2 cervical surgeries. 1st with cage, plates, screws done anterior. Best thing in the world! 2years later, pulled adjoining disks out of place, so had anterior/posterior fusion. My entire cervical spine now fused and very happy. Have thoracic discount issues now and torn rotator cuff that radiates into cervical area and makes spasms.. But overall, best thing ever! Better range of motion and I can stand up without pass out, feel my fingers, write and until recent car accident, hadn't had a headache in years!
Wishing you all the best for surgery!! 💖

Mich60, I have spoken to my BFF about fusion. I was always under the impression that if they do all that, you lose all motion in your neck because it's all fused together and you can no longer turn your head and have to turn using your waist and can't bend your neck side to side or front to back.. (My BFF has had fusion and she's amazingly flexible 😊😉😜). Thanks for the positive vibes and also adding to the incentive I got from my BFF not to be afraid of having it done should it come to that!! 💕
