Hypertension and fibromyalgia?

May 11, 2018 11:58 AM

I've just been to my GP who has commenced me on antihypertensive medication as my average BP is 160/115. He said that there is a link between fibromyalgia and hypertension so thought that could be the case with me as I'm only 30.

I wasn't aware of that, did anyone else know? And does anyone have any experience with Amlodipine?

Many thanks

My BP and pulse are usually low. I haven't heard of a connection between BP and fibro.

There was a research study in 2014 that showed a link between Fibromyalgia and nondipping blood pressure. Nondipping blood pressure is a phenomenon where blood pressure doesn't lower during sleep.

Any kind of pain can raise blood pressure it depends on your diseased condition and response of body hormones to pain.
To differentiate this thing you can measure your blood pressure when you are relaxing in least amount of pain
