Hi guy's,

I have hypertension which was completely under control. My last BP check was good, well within the limits.

The last 2 days I've been having terrible headaches, not quite migraines, just ongoing headaches with neck pain at the base of my neck. I checked my BP and it's high again.

I've lost weight, don't use salt my cooking, I do not smoke or drink and I've been walking more (when fibromyalgia allows). Has anyone got any tips how I can try to keep on top of this? As you probably know my dad had surgery for bladder cancer this weekend which was hugely successful, I don't feel stressed but it may be a physical reaction to it all?

Any advice would be appreciated.

It could be stress or pain. Also beware of hidden sodium in lunch meat, condiments, soda, canned items, baked goods ect. You might try a food journal.
I am glad to hear that your dad's surgery went well.

Thank you LMB. It's unbelievable how much salt are in everyday foods, I was shocked when I first started watching my salt intake.

I hope you're having a good day.

Haley, LMB is right about the stress or pain. Both cause mine too go high, and I'm really a low-BP person. But the neck is causing me headaches too, that climb up and over the top of my head sometimes, and can be excruciating like a migraine. My doc dx it as Cervicogenic headaches. When my body goes up and I think it's stress I do relaxation and deep breathing and gentle slow stretches (similar to yoga possibly). It helps. Keeping my pain under control helps too. Only with low BP I have to be careful it doesn't drop too low and me pass out. Lol I'm complicated as the docs say! 🙂❤🙏🌼
