Hysterectomy question

Jul 15, 2017 7:43 PM

Okay so most knows I had an hystemacy done. Has anyone that had it done ever become emotional ? For the last few days I have been very emotional. And feeling like there is no end to the pain. Even tho I know I'm the lucky one because my pain will heal soon.

It just seems like time is going really slow . And there is no end . I am back to thinking that I am alone . I already had a fight with my hubby . I just feel like everything is falling apart.

I'm sorry I just needed to know people cares .
I hope you all are doing well. Thank you ahead of time for being here.

((Gentle hugs))

I've never had one done...but I'm pretty sure your dr should have prepared you because you're hormones are going to be fluctuating quite a bit and your hormones control your emotions, which includes your feeling alone. Know your not and it will even out in time. I hope they are given your bio identical (I think it's called) hormones. You don't want synthetics.

Thank you @BrokenBlossoms. Nope the dr did not explain that part to me and with me being bipolar doesn't help at all.

Thank you for your kind words and taking time out to help me

I did a whole bunch of research for my mom when she started going thru menopause. Never take anything but bio identical hormones and go thru a compounding pharmacy. The will customize the estrogen and progesterone per your prescription into like a cream and they put it in like a pump that dispenses the right amount and you just rub it in like moisturizer. You get more of the hormones that way. It natural, unlike say prepare in (sp?)which is made from pregnant mare ( horses) urine. Not so good does work well either

Oh I forgot....never take unopposed estrogen or progesterone. The big scare ( or most of it anyways) about hormone replacement therapy giving women cancer came out of drs prescribing only one ( unopposed) your body has both naturally so you should replace both.

Confused, I had a full hysterectomy a year ago and I am on estridol... What the heck is bio identical?

Jul 15, 2017 11:58 PM

When i was researching that's what they called it when they take (I think it's a type of Mexican yam) they found that this yam has "bio identical" estrogens in it. Don't ask me for the exact definition ha, but it's bio identical to what we make in our body naturally. Your estradiol may be made of it already. It's been years since I was reading up on this and I think they've come a long way with the products they have to offer us now. I still like to caution everyone I hear taking about hrt though, because I'm sure there are still drs prescribing the not so natural stuff.

I don't need any of that because I still have my ovaries

Sjogreenspain77. How was the after experience for you ? Did you get very emotional ?

Jul 16, 2017 11:15 AM

Westerngirl, I did and still do at times. It will take time for your hormones to get back in check... As for me I was thrown into menepous almost immediately after the surgery since they took my ovaries. My symptoms are little better controlled now that I am on hormones. I'll be praying for you and your healing process and you and your other half.

Thank you Sjogrenspain77. I appreciate that . I read last night that I'm going through griffin. I just know this part sucks worse then the pain . 😐
