I can't describe pain

Feb 24, 2016 11:45 AM

Hi, I'm hoping you can all help me. I've not been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and I've not even been to the Doctor yet, but I have been going to a Physio for months about incredibly sore and increasingly weak knees, and they're not getting better, just worse. Something I have noticed though is that it's getting perpetually harder to say what hurts because it feels like everything hurts all the time. It feels like my nerves are all turned up to the highest volume and what feels like a lack of energy is just overwhelming and constant pain. Does anyone else have the same sort of thing? In the evenings all I want to do is stretch so that I can have some sensation that isn't prickly sensitivity and soreness, and in bed I can't stay still. Going slowly insane.

Thanks everyone.

RachAche, first I would like to welcome you to our community family. As a pain sufferer for almost 23 years and a laundry list of things wrong the length of my arm, I'd like to say I'm sorry you're in such pain. The things you describe sound like you could be experiencing a neurological situation. I know you said that you haven't been to the doctor. That's your first step. You need to go and (get referrals if needed) and see a neurologist and rheumatologist. They will run a battery of tests and take blood and do a full physical. They may do MRI Scans, nerve conduction studies, etc. I will let you know that it will not be a quick diagnosis. Sometimes it can take years of testing to find the problem and give you a proper diagnosis. Don't just think that if they give you a diagnosis of fibromyalgia that you have it for sure. There are folks that have been diagnosed and have other issues. Also, try to remain positive and mobile as much as you can. Don't let any diagnosis drag you into becoming the disease. You are you and may have to adjust to a new type of normal in your life but don't let it define who you are. Know that this is a very safe and wonderful forum to ask questions, get support and also form friendships. I hope that you find the answers you need from your doctors. If they are dismissive, or make you feel uncomfortable then find another. It's not always easy. But know you can depend on us to be here when you need to chat or vent or laugh. We hold one another in high regard, pray for one another, celebrate with one another and laugh a lot. So, welcome aboard and best wishes to you for better days ahead with less pain. 💕🙏🏻🌻😊

I would suggest you start using your tacker on this app and take the time to focus In on your body so u can identify what and where u r hurting. So you can take this information back to your Dr or medical professional so they can have a more outline view of your pain a d discomfort.

Welcome RachAche! I can't add much to what AlwayZ told you. My fibro symptoms started in 2007-2008 but it took until 2012 to diagnose. I have many multiple chronic pain issues, and unfortunately, as most of us know, symptoms criss cross each other. Seeing a doctor is important, and for many we have a team of multiple doctors. Hugs & prayers you will learn what's going on soon. 🙂💕🙏🌼

Aw thank you everyone. I will go and see my GP - I think I've just been reluctant to open the can of worms and hoping it would just go away. I know it's not going to be a quick fix. Thank you all for your kind words. Xx
