I can't do this anymore

Apr 21, 2017 6:48 PM

I don't know how much longer i can deal with this.. I'm doing everything the doctor are telling me too..
Seeing a physiologist
Using my tens machine
Doing home exercises
Taking my meds

Nothing is working!
I'm in constant pain and i can't handle it any more, i keep breaking down thinking i can't live like this anymore.. if i was ro go on a surgery list it could take years.. I'm on Targin with my Lyrica now and I'm still in discomfort, of course the pain isn't as bad on meds but it's still intense pain when i wake and in the afternoon.. I've even resorted to using crystals, I'm willing try to anything.. i don't know what else to do

Oh hun. I hate that you are struggling so. :( what over the counter type of treatments have you tried. Can you remind me again what your diagnosis Is? Maybe others will have some helpful suggestions for you. ((Gentle hugs))

What type of pain do you have?

Apr 22, 2017 9:22 AM

I know the feeling you are having about not thinking you can take it anymore. Please remember that you will get some relief sometime today, just take each day one day at a time. I know that if my pain continues for longer than today, it's too horrific a thought to think I'm going to have to live in such suffering. Please do not think that way. You can do this, particularly if you believe in Jesus. He took the pain of all the sins each human being had made and will make. You can do this. Please tell us what happened, your diagnosis. I'm right here with you.

She suffers from DDD, Osteoarthritis and nerves pressing on her back. I can feel her pain as I have DDD, Osteoarthritis and Neuropathy and Sjogrens Syndrome. I am assuming that the pain is from the DDD and the nerve's pressing on her back. Those 2 alone can put even the toughest of people in pain. I suggestedโ€‹ a heating pad or a massage therapist. (I pm'ed her). Anyone else have any more ideas for her?

Big hugs to you! I myself have what I call my little "freak outs" where I just feel lost in the wilderness of pain. Just know it's not in your mind, you're doing what you can, and you have a lot of support in here! Keep trying and never give up!

I have, DDD osteoarthritis and two herniated discs that are pressing on spinal chord nerves so i have nerve pain down my legs, sometimes i feel the pain in my spine down my leg. I have a tens machine but it doesn't always help, i have tried heating pads but the pain isn't really in my muscles, I've tried acupuncture and massage, i went for 15 sessions but it didn't help, there isn't a lot of over the counter things for my back

@Mknight I also have fibro, DDD, SPD, oestopenia, chronic migraines and my T4 has prolapsed and a edge has chipped off pressing on my spinal cord. Lots of nerve pain, only made worse by the fact I work and I work in retail.
I tried acupuncture and massage but did not work either. I basically eat pain meds like they are tic tacs. But I am seeing a pain specialist at the end of next month to see what I can do next. I hope you find some relief :)

At my Counseling session she recommended that I start to see the Dr more often. Of course she didn't affer any money for the copays. Ha..But I think what she inferring is that I not give up and to keep fighting. With many of the conditioms we have getting complacent is dangerous. I don't know how navagate this trip we are on but together we can get through it.

I don't know we're you are but can you find a heated pool? Or get a Rx for PT in aquatic therapy? That helps a lot. You can take 2 pool noodles under your armpits and have like only 2 pound wrap around weights on each ankle. Float were your feet are just off the bottom. The pool noodles hold you up and the weights pull you slightly down. Its mild tradition on your spine. It helps so much. I have DDD and pinched nerves and herniated and buldging disks. Best relief I got.

Try an inversion table for those with spinal pain and pinched nerves ,it helped me a lot before my surgery,it decompresses the spine giving some relief of pinched nerves

I got this traction device on amazon. I checked with my doc first but he said it was ok to use. You pump it up like a blood pressure cuff and as it fills up it stretches your neck out and takes pressure off the nerve. I usually do it in the morning for about 30 minutes. The doc had me on a cervical traction a long time ago. One of those that you fill with water and hang it over the door. I didn't like it though.
