I can't take this pain anymore!

May 06, 2016 4:48 AM

Lord, please help me! This is unbearable! So much pain, everywhere!
Friends, I want to go to the ER but I want to be admitted until they find what's wrong with me! I'm afraid if I go, they'll send me home after I've sat there for hours to get in. I don't know what to do! I sat in agony yesterday! Haven't showed in 2 days! Still in the same gown since 3 nights ago! I can't help it! I can't stand up in a shower! I can't walk! It's too painful!
What do I do!!

Get someone to put a stable chair in the shower and set the water to a temp you can bare and take care of yourself before you get a fungus causing more pain. Then try to enjoy the sound of the water running and over you. (Distraction therapy). If you can take your pain med do that and eat something after the shower and do the home PT if you were given any for these type of days. Just saying this is what they make me do.

Call your pain or PC and tell them also. ER may not be the best place for this situation unless you fell.

The weather is killing me today and I got on my stationary bike an did a few strokes cried, rest n did more then it was easier to move n walk. Did my home PT and it is getting easier to move n took my pain n anti inflammatory meds.

Hello SleepingBeauty,
The app told me that our pain is pretty similar and directed me to this topic. I tried to private meager you so that I could support you more personally, as I would do for anyone in this forum but I think you either don't have the Pain Companion app too or you don't have the up-to-date version.
I hope you are feeling better and I would try to talk to your pain management doctor asap.

Gentle hugs

Kamel I agree with you. I find a gentle stretch and a hot shower can make the difference when nothing else will. Don't give up Sleeping Beauty where in your corner πŸ‘

Thank you! Yesterday was my husband's birthday so he went fishing. I had to call my mom to travel an hour and a half to come help me. She made breakfast for me ,got my meds and all and helped me get in the shower. God love her! She's 77 and having to help her 52 Yr old daughter.
I felt so much better.
Kamel, you made me laugh with the "fungus " comment!

I am so sorry that you suffered such horrible pain and had to be like that for 2 days. I understand how you feel about the ER but sometimes it just takes getting a shot of a good pain medication to break the pain cycle. Here in NY it's been raining since LAST Thursday and I can't break my pain cycle and it's horrendous. I've had to take my Dad to his doctor appointments and do grocery shopping for my folks. Dad is 87 and Mom is 80 and I'm 50. My Mom, thank God is in good health and is on no medication and gets around great. She doesn't drive any more though. So, now that Dad is getting up there we don't let him drive far and then it falls on me. I've HAD to get up and go in the shower. I showered Thursday and not since and I'm all alone in the house and really don't want to fall and break my ass with nobody here so I guess I'll just be funky for the day.. LOL!! (Ewwww 😳). But it is what it is. I am glad your Mom was able to come and help you and get you to a point of feeling better.. Thank God for Moms, right?? I hope this finds you with less of a pain load and having a better day. Hang in there, you're in my prayers. {{{Hugs}}}πŸ’•πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒ»πŸ˜Š

Thank you Alwaizinpain, you are always there for me with encouraging words to boost me up from the dark whole I fall into, even when your there yourself. My prayers are with you too! And YES, Mother's are a Godsend! I honestly don't know what I'd do without mine.
I'm so sorry you have to go this alone. Do you have times when you can't get out of bed for the stiffness and pain? I know that on those days when the pain is in every joint and every muscle and the nerve pain is so intense, I can barely move at all. I just don't know how you do it!

Tiredinpain, I've been trying to download that app but i can't find it in play store. πŸ˜”

Sleepingbeauty, the warm shower & gentle stretches work to loosen up my stiff joints, and releases tight muscles. If I get still for too long it causes pain. When I wake in the mornings, or after a nap it's the worst. My PCP aid the joints are from the OA and the muscles are from fibro. I keep a shower chair in my shower because some days I just can't stand. And I certainly can't get in & out of the bathtub! Have you tried relaxation music and meditation, to get your body to relax? The more tender you are about the pain the tighter everything will be, and more pain. I'm sending you gentle hugs & prayers you can get something to start reducing the pain & stiffness! πŸ™‚πŸ’•πŸ™πŸŒΌ

You feel better?

Dear Sleepinbeauty,
I hear you and feel for you in your situation. A moment at a time. Take care of yourself and ask for help.
I have been really having a horrible time lately. The other day I was in so much pain that I couldn't get out of bed to pee. I couldn't move. Thank goodness I have a soaker pad. Thinking if I have it hopefully I won't need it. Thank goodness it was there. Peeing myself makes me sad. It was a real crappy day, no coffee in the house once I got up in late afternoon. I messaged my great friend. She brought me a coffee and we had a chat about the good things in life. Giving my thoughts of the pain a break. I was in my pjs in back yard on a lawn chair. Ahh who cares. My friend doesn't.
I have been doing lots of meditation and being mindful. Got to get through.
Take special care of yourself Sleepinbeauty.

Agreed😊 Mom's ARE a blessing. Mine has passed but my daughter's a mom who's with me. Seems a lot of us are having bad pain days lately.
The meditation and relaxation ideas are great when you can do them. Sometimes the pain is too distracting.
Fibro made my legs feel like aching logs ejected from a volcano today and IBS had me doubled over in bed. Quite a sight. It didn't occur to me to shower. So I hear you.
Wishing you ease of mind and relief from pain.β›…
