My dad & stepmom came up for a doctors appointment, then decided to take me to lunch (they live 1 1/2 ht away), before coming back to my house for his computer and some Martin house poles(heavy telescoping). Before I could come find hand gloves and get back outside, dad already had both poles loaded on his truck! I had to climb onto the stepbar to reach over and secure the poles with rope & bungee cords. After he loaded his computer (a friend upgraded for him), they left...1 hr ago. I am sitting in my recliner, literally exhausted & trembling all over. My hearts pounding too. He's 84 & I'm 53, and he can outlast me...I feel old & worn out! 👵😞
I can totally relate. It even wears me out to go to the grocery store, so much so that I need to use an electric cart to make it through the trip. Just ready for this to stop so I can move on with my life.
Amanda I am ready for this to stop too! Each time my pain lessens (which is usually only for a day or two) I get all hopeful thinking. "Its going away"! So far though, it does not go away, or at least for a long period. I want it gone for good
I understand exactly how you feel. My Dad is 85 and still does grocery shopping, etc.. I went on Sunday because of the icing conditions and when I got finished, I came home and was so miserable, I couldn't stand it. The next day I felt worse from all the bending, lifting heavy bags, etc.. I'm 50 an feel like I'm the one who's 85 and its damn depressing. I used to have horses and was at the barn every day, twice a day during the work week and then all weekend. I'd muck my stalls, groom and then go out riding with whoever wanted to go. Then, come back, groom again and head home to do it over again on Sunday. (I mucked stalls EVERY DAY). I feel really sad I can't do this any more. Hang in there, FlappsyLady, my thoughts and prayers are with you!!!
