I need help.

Dec 15, 2017 1:33 PM

Good morning,
I started a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for Compression Sleeves similar to what they use in the hospital for circulation. I have CRPS Type II, Phase 3. My pain in my left leg goes from my toes to my hip. At times I fall, I ambulate with a cane, and am in constant agony after my doctor took me off Fentanyl. I had been running a 5K every day but now can barely get from the bed to the couch without help. After 3 spinal cord stimulators, 2 newer l nerve blocks, nerve removal, and hardware removal my medical costs are around$27,000. I work two jobs and push through best I can so I can keep afloat. I started this campaign because I simply cannot afford it. I posted it on my Facebook wall but honestly have only a few people closest to me who gave support to help. I know there's a lot of GoFundMe scams floating around. If you want to verify this is legit, my Facebook account is Richard Emmons from Iowa. I post about my struggles often and asked for help. My privacy restricts posts to friends, if you want to verify this is a legit request please feel free to friend request me. I will accept so those concerned about fraud know this is not fake. The sleeves cost around $425 with tax and I'm really hoping to get them soon. Currently I've raised $205. Any help is appreciated. If you could also help by reposting to your Facebook I'd appreciate this so much. If you have any questions please feel free to respond to this post. It's been really difficult asking for help but I really need help and have tried to get past that part and humble myself. Thank you. Even if you can't help, I know here at least, people understand my struggle.

Glad you received the $$. May I ask why the dr. took you off Fentanyl?

Federal guidelines state that because I don't have cancer, I can't be on it according to him

Wow! I have a few friends with CRPS, lupus, fibromyalgia and they take it. Have you received and tried the compression boot? Hope it works for you. Good luck.šŸ˜Š

Got them in the mail. They help by providing pressure similar to massage. It is also distracting which helps. In combination with my stimulator they help long enough to give me a break. Too bad I can't use them at work. Lol

Iā€™m glad you were able to raise the money needed! Best of luck

Where did you get the boots? It was recommended I get them for my legs. I had no idea of the cost. Oh my! Would insurance pay for them??

I think it would depend on the insurance provider, reason why they're needed, whether you have a prescription, and where you're getting them from

Amazon. Air Relax brand. Around $430 with tax. Insurance will not pay but that's mine. Can't hurt to ask.

Pain was a 7-8. After three hours in the boots I'm around a 2-3. Takes a while but it works. Going to be able to sleep tonight. Usually I don't. So I would definitely suggest getting them.
