I started Plaquenil Wednesday night. I just got around to reading the med info sheet they gave me today. Apparently it's contraindicated to use acetaminophen with Plaquenil.
I've used it in various forms for years, for different issues, mostly because I can't take Ibuprofen products because antiinflammatory drugs in the 90's caused a blessing ulcer. I take regular Tylenol for mild headaches, Tylenol Arthritis for osteoarthritis and mild fibromyalgia pain (daily, 4 of less), & a generic form of Midrin for migraines (has acetaminophen).
FlappysLady, quick question for you. Have you ever tried any of the "non-traditional" herbal medications? I can't think of any other options to replace the Tylenol other then something that would be non-traditional like possibly kava root or something similar. Might have some better answers in the morning. Brain is shot to pieces.
Amanda, my brain is frazzled too. Lol. No I haven't tried any herbal medicine. I'll definitely check into whatever is suggested. Except marijuana, it's only legal in liquid form for specific child illnesses, and very recently passed. And I'm not looking for anything like that... I need functional meds. I tried it long long ago at a gathering & passed out... not to my liking. That's why I hate strong narcotics. I reserved them only following surgery. Thanks! I'm going to try and sleep tonight, hopefully. Sweet dreams to all!! 🙏🌼
I understand having problems with acetominaphen. I would really consider LDN, because it helps your body create more of its natural painkillers, but the big concern I've heard is that it makes certain painkillers useless. That's somewhat true. So far as herbal/traditional meds go, Lemon balm Kava Root Ginger Tumeric Iodine
Non-traditional Garlic/MSM/DMSO Gallium (this is used to treat arthritis) Magnolia Bark Quinine (it's in tonic water)
I believe you've tried ley much everything else, I hope you find something that works and good luck with your meds.
Flappsy, what about Aleve? (Naproxen Sodium). It's over the counter and an anti inflammatory pain reliever. I find for me, there is no stomach upset. Hope one of the suggestions you've gotten helps.. As always, you're in my prayers. 💕🙏🏻🌺
Ferretbandit, what is LDN? Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll check them out. 👍
Always, My gastric doc told me to avoid antiinflammatory meds. But he did that EGD last week and said the old ulcer was completely healed. I may have to try it and see, if nothing else helps. Thanks! 👍. 🙏🌼
