I purchased Long term disability insurance

Oct 18, 2016 2:27 AM

Sorry y'all but I have to vent! I decided 8 years ago when I started my last job to purchase an extra 20% of short/long term disability insurance. My employer paid for the 40% & I paid for 20%. So I got 60% for 2 years then they say that it drops to 40%. Why I was never told that is beyond me. So every 6 months they make me jump through hoops to get paper work filled out. I use the US veteran hospital(US Navy). I'm blessed to have that option. But they're not suppose to fill out paper work. My Dr does do this for me. I've been on this 3 years. Nothing has changed. My Dr. just copies what she put on the last form. Well this time she changed one part said I'd be out of work for 5 years or more. She left one area blank one out of 3 pages. And the notes say why. They're refusing to pay me. I feel like I'm being harassed. I feel every 6 months of my Dr filling out paper work and making me send in Dr. appointment notes too, I feel they are just looking for a flaw in my Dr. notes. After 3 years you'd think I'd get a break. Maybe once a year and either the notes from the appointments or paperwork filled out.

Am I wrong on getting pissed, angry and stressed? Are they asking for to much to often? They cause
me to get a migraine and have an anxiety attack every time.

It's a pain for sure, and the insurance company's are always going to find a way out of paying, that's why they make everyone jump through so many hoops, I agree they do ask for too much too often. Good Luck on getting sorted out! Sending you lots of Prayer's your way!🙏💖🌹

I would be upset and pissrd as well. There really is. no reason for them to have you do paperwork every 6 months! Usually it's annually or every other year (depends on where you live). I am sending positive vibes, good Karma and well wishes that you get this taken care of. They shouldn't have stopped paying you since YOU paid for the policy. {{{Hugs}}}💕😊

Thanks Sjogrenspain77 and Alwayzinpain. I only got 4 1/2 hours of sleep. Migraine started, vomitting and so much pain I can't move my neck or right shoulder. I'm so upset. It's so old. Every time I sit back and breathe I gotta deal w/ this life turning upside down company! Seriously they as bad as the SSD.

My sister in law has to do it every 6 weeks, she'd take the 6 months because she has to pay for a visit to get the papers filled out.

Mrsladybug, I can understand completely! I get migraines that bad and dealing with insurance company's are twice as bad as the migraines I believe! It's like a lifetime of grief and constant worry. You have my prayers and supportive Hug's!🙏💖🌹
