I'm back !!!

May 22, 2015 3:59 PM

Hi everyone I have missed everyone. We had to take the baby to UMTB in League City Texas. The orthopedic Dr put her in a brace it goes over her little shoulders with a band across her chest and down to her hips and both legs including her little feet are completely encased in it. We are not allowed to take it off even to give her a bath. Only sponge baths.she goes back on June 3rd. Please keep her in y'all prayers. She now weighs 5.15 lbs. I think she is up to 6 lbs finely it's been a long journey from 4.12 at birth. Today she is 1 month old. It's hard to belive its been a month since she got here. She is such a good baby she hardly ever cries only when she needs her diaper changed and when she needs a bottle. She doesn't seem to mind the brace at all it is rubbing her skin under her arms and around her neck and behind her little knees I have cut up 2 of her baby wash cloths because they are so soft to try and protect her skin in those places. Well she just woke needs her diaper changed.

What sweet days of memories that will pass all too quickly! That's a good idea to pad the areas the brace is rubbing. Maybe she won't be in it to long. 🙏🌼

Weezie, welcome back!!! I am glad that they are able to help the little one, even though it is with that cumbersome brace. That was a perfect idea to use the soft washcloths to protect her precious skin where the brace rube. Having worn MANY braces and having MANY casts over the years, I know all too well how very painful, raw, stinky. itchy and smelly those raw spots can get. The washcloth will protect that skin and also prevent all that other stuff. How wonderful that it doesn't seem to bother her at all. Makes it all the easier for you to see this little one wearing the brace. I pray that it accomplishes the outcome they are looking for. With you and the rest of your family, there is incredible support there and I have faith that all will heal up neatly and completely. You and the entire family are in my prayers.
