I'm back from AWOL

Feb 19, 2017 9:21 PM

Hey everyone!
First of all I'd like to apologise for going AWOL. Unfortunately, I had a pretty massive and prolonged flare and I am now in the 3rd week of the most severe headache of my life (it feels like migraine AND cluster). I've also been super stressed because due to being more ill my grades have dropped and I need really high grades for university (college in america). I also had another sexuality and gender crisis and things worth me are just generally complicated. my mental health has taken a turn for the worst and I'm just trying to hold it together. I'm sorry to barrage you with all this at once I just needed to let it out to people I can trust and I trust very few due to my severe trust issues. So anyway, that's an update on me. I came back bc I figure this is my new life now and I didn't want to be gone at all yet alone forever.

How are you all?
How has everyone been?

Hiya it's good to hear from you. Best foot forward, you're staying in contact which is a positive move. I've been AOL as well as I attended a 4wk residential pain management course and boy it turns your thinking around. Ok we have this pain and flare but we choose how to deal with this on a daily basis, our choice that's the only control we have. I'm still learning but I'm not going back to that dark place again, this is my life and I will live it. Best thoughts and big hugs to u xxx

hi all,
I thought I'd give you an update. I am having surgery on Monday for my wisdom teeth finally. I had an MRI under GA but for some reason they gave me amiodarone which is freaking me out a bit as if it was due to what I know it's used for then going under GA isn't good for me. My nan is having surgery 2 days after mine. I'm still having the constant daily and episodic headaches and have been told by a headache neurologist that I have 3 new headache disorders, one of those being cluster headache, the second being constant daily headache caused by the cluster headaches (rebound almost) and they didn't tell me what the third was. I'm still in a rally bad flats and have taken a lot of time off of school and I'm not in the best state physically or mentally.

anyway I guess that's the update feel free to ask questions

Oh no TIPNI, I hope having your wisdom teeth out helps. When I had mine out it was instant relief.
Are they taking all of them out?
I had mine out under local anesthetic (I was too heavy for general), are they taking it out with general or local anesthetic?

I hope your Nan's surgery goes well, what is she going in for? Nothing too serious I hope.

Is it possible that with your bad health at the moment that you ask the school if you can repeat this year or when you're in a more stable condition with everything that they'll be able to give you extra tuition so you can catch up and bring your grades back to where you want them to be?

Have you had counseling with a proper psychologist or a mental health nurse? (I've found normal counsellors not very good and some even triggered me so I was in a worse place than I started!!!) Where you can talk thro everything that has happened and is happening so you can get everything out in the air then you can work out where you want to go and feel the feelings that you've repressed so you can let them go and start moving forward again.

Sending you positive vibes and warm healing hugs xx

Hi Sezzy,
I'm having my 2 lower wisdom teeth out for now and hoping that the uppers don't cause too much of a problem - they are currently so high up that removing them would wreck my sinuses. It's being done under GA (General Anaesthetic) as die to my pain condition and the allodynia and hyperaesthesia that firm a part of it, my back can't touch anything.

My nan's surgery is a cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal) she will be in hospital for a couple of days but it's a relatively common surgery and her surgeon is very good.

I'm already on a restarted year and my school won't do extra tuition I don't think, they wouldn't before. I'll ask but I still doubt it.

I've been in therapy since I was 10 but have only had a RMN (Mental health Nurse) once for 6 months and I have only had a psychologist for 3 weeks. The problem is that they don't give me regular appointments so I often have 4 weeks between appointments and they want to get rid of me to another service but once they've referred me I'm not allowed therapy from them so I have to wait until the new service takes me which could be over a year. ugh I'm sick of the mental system here
