I'm only 21 and already have hip problems

Oct 15, 2015 12:18 PM

When I was 9 I was diagnosed with perthes. They treated me for 3 years and said I was healed. I've had hip pains all my life, but now I can barely get out of bed. I can't work and I have to walk with a cane. Can I get approved for disability?

Anyone else young and disabled? If so did you get approved for government disability?

Definitely apply for disability. I haven't because my pain was reversed before it had the extreme pain long enough to qualify. I'd hope that since I don't have it, hopefully others with disabilities can get it. I'm 15.

Definitely try for it,since you have had health problems since you were a child you probably get it. Just remember to get all the documentation from every Dr that treated you. They may start you with SSI maybe not they will take the income from your parents if I'm not mistaken. You have to have worked so many quarters that's how they get how much money you will get. If I am wrong someone let me know. I will apologize in advance.
