I know I have fibromyalgia, with the classic tender points and fatigue. But I knew it wasn't the explanation for everything. I pressed to see a rheumatologist and endocrinologist, and I also have Sjogrens and Hypothyroidism. " If the shoe doesn't fit don't wear it, " as the saying goes. If you don't feel the doc has addressee and diagnosed properly, get a second or third opinion. 🙏🌼
Oy, I agree. I'm one of the people who thinks Fibro isn't a diagnosis, just a symptom. It basically means widespread pain that we couldn't find a cause for, but if we call it a separate diagnosis we can stop searching.
I might have lupus, I might have CRPS, I don't believe in fibro. Diagnose me with fibro, I'll resent you for giving up. My dad kept trying. He keeps looking. He hasn't given up on me.
There are many differential diagnoses, but they don't have standard tests so some docs just leave it at fibro. Then again, I haven't gone to medical school. Think what you want, or get a second opinion. Do your own research. Read some blogs, some books. Learn more, then decide if it suits you.
