In pain and bored.....

Jan 23, 2016 10:35 AM

So the morning started with a bang..ha..woke uo.to my dad falling this morning. He was trying to go to the rest room and for hung up on his walker. So its 5 am and me and mom trying to help him up.. On a good note my dad has gotten a bit stronger and has a little more strength so he was able to help us some with getting him up.
So once he was back in his chair and I started picked things up. I started to feel so e discomfort but ignored it. At any rate.. My hips and entire pelvis and tailbone started activating. Sharp pusling pain. It makes wo der how I got up. I know it was fast so I must have pulled something. Meds are working a little but still feel pressure and kind of swollen.
With all that..I feel OK expect for my hands. And yes I'm actually a little bored.. It's weird.. So what's going on with y'all? Is everyone doing well with this cold snowy weather..?

New, I hate the snow and so does my back. Going to try to see if I can get a little bit of something done. Thankfully I don't have to shovel but I really must clear the snow from in front of my door right now. In bed otherwise for the day.

I'm glad your dad is alright after his fall. Darn adrenaline making us think we can do more than we should! I'm sorry you are feeling crummy :(

Yep, I woke up in pain. But I live in sunny Southern California. I actually was just outside picking up dog poo. Lower back, shoulders, hands feel numb but with all that I'm trying to do some light house cleaning. Prayers for your dad that he gets stronger with each day, and for you to have less pain.

Glad your Dad is okay! I just kinda went through that with my Mom right after Christmas. My Dad called at 5 a.m. asking for help to take her to the hospital for confusion and she was unable to walk. It happened again 2 weeks later. We are moving to a house right across the street to be able to help them in these later years... but I am so worried about this move and cleaning up this new house (it was vandalized and trashed). It needs a lot of work and I can't just sit by and have all my friends do the work and say Thanks! I am dreading the pain. ๐Ÿ˜ข

Newfibrogirl sounds like a nightmare. Sometimes you have to be grateful for the adrenaline so that you are able to get him up. I'm so sorry you hurt though. NY has been declared a state of emergency and unless you're going to the hospital or driving a county utility vehicle and working, nobody is allowed on the roads. I managed to get in a shower and wash my hair. It's falling out a bit from stress. Thank God it's almost to my waist and it's really, really thick. Anyway, it's in a braid so that That it's not hanging down my back wet since I have the window open and it's cold out. I hope everyone is safe and warm.
Lvnhurt, it's so cold here, the dog poop is frozen and buried under about 16" of snow!!

Serenasills.. It is hard to deal with all the sickness sometimes especially when it's your parents. I moves back home with my parents ,left my boyfriend to come help here and then I got I'll..sonyes life is hard. It's good you have a house so close to them but yet Still have your own space. How is your mom now?
Alwayz..the adrenaline is a magical thing. Wish they coukd make a pain pill out of it. Ha..cause i felt now pain at all til it was over. I've got a anunt in VA and they getting some issues too. And another friend who has no power. I'm blessed since our roads are OK. But the wind is so rude.lol and cold.. I'm glad my pain meds are working. I took them right at the first sign of pain. I'm gonna rest a bit now. Since dad has asked for something sweet.. So I made him a cheesecake after I did lunch..lol..

Mom is better, but they still don't know what is causing her waves of dementia -like symptoms. She is also a pain patient and I think she is over medicated on morphine but we.will have to wait and see what happens on that one.

Newfibrogirl, I'm glad you were able to help your dad, but it's bad you hurt yourself. Just try and rest so the muscles relax. The wind has been so high that our 40 degree high actually felt like high 20's low 30's. We haven't left our house and I've only left the dog out once, making my hubby let him out because it was too cold! Lol. I woke with my right arm hurting. It's swollen above and below the elbow, and jerking in spasms. It got worse after I made some banana bread, so I'm trying to just rest it.

Serenasills, I hope you'll let your friends help, so you don't overdo it. Just have a lunch for them as a thank you. I'm glad you're able to be close to help your parents. Unless my dad moves towards me I can't help, which upsets me. He's over an hour away, with Alzheimer's, and I can't drive longer than 30 minutes because of my tremors. My stepmom needs the help but until he's on board it's just a wait and see.

Everyone stay warm and safe. Hugs to all! ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™๐ŸŒผ๐Ÿ’•
