in shock

Nov 01, 2015 11:40 AM

This week was a crazy busy week and I am hoping I am waking from a bad dream. My friend has been cancer free for a long time until Thursday when she got the test results back that found a spot on her lungs and they did the biopsy and it came back malignant, she has cancer! She fought Brest Cancer and beat it, now she has cancer on her lung and possibly another spot on her kidney! 😭 I am losing my family and friends to this horrible disease and there isn't anything I can do! She is one of 3 friends who have this and I currently have 2 Aunts fighting it too! Please tell me its just a bad dream and I'll wake up and everyone is ok!

I wish I could say that it was just a bad dream, I lost my mum to it last year and my friend in 2011 they were both diagnosed around the same time, it's awful, it really is.

I'm so sorry. That's such a horrible diagnosis but she has you to lean on and you have us. Together, maybe we can help you feel better and by extension, your friend.

Moparmom, I'm so sorry to hear this. I've lost several family members to cancer, and twice as many are fighting various forms of it. My dad, who turned 85 in June, has fought colon, abdominal, skin, prostate, and liver cancer. The colon matasticized to his liver. He went through two episodes of radioactive seed implants for the liver. They caused chemo brain, cognitive dysfunction. Now he has Alzheimer's, but the cancer is in remission.

I wishI could tell you it will be ok, or that it's a bad dream. Sadly I think many we know will suffer from cancer. I can only tell you to spend as much time either with them or talking to them. Reminisce over fun times. Enjoy new times, even if it's just at a coffee shop, or taking her to an appt. Let her know you will be there as much as possible. (((Hugs))) & prayers for your friend! 🙏🌼
