In tears

Oct 15, 2015 10:28 AM

I just got a call from my pain specialist that the MRI I had done yesterday shows no changes from 2 years ago. The last transferaminal injection he gave me did no good. He said there is nothing more he can think of to do besides giving me oxy every month like he's already doing. I am just in tears with frustration. I don't want to continue taking opioids the rest of my life. The hydrocodone stopped working a year ago. How long before the oxycodone stops and they have to give me something stronger yet?

Please give me some pointers on long term opioid use. Have others been on them long term? How do they effect your every day living? Are you have success with them? What alternatives have you tried? ANY and ALL responses will be appreciated.

I have been on opioid ' s since 2001 whenadjusts and you learn how to function taking my back. I take Hydrocodn / Acetaminophen 325 / 7.5 generic for Norco 2 tabs every 6 hrs as needed for break thru pain, I started Taki g Fentonyl patches 50 mg change every 3 days this year . Your body adjusts and you learn how to function taking them. I also take 800 mg Gabapentin 4 x day,and 50 mg Savella 2 X day for my nerve pain.as well as high blood pressure meds, and diabetes ijx.,and bone mass meds . I also use Equate Cool and hot roll on,and heated rice packs.

ButtonsGrammy, I'm allergic to most pain meds so I use Tramadol sparingly and save the other for surgeries.

8 haven't had the transforaminal injx. I received injx at a different location but can't remember the name. Facet injx did not work well for me. Ask your doc if an injx at a different level or location might be better? Hugs & a prayer! 🙏🌼
