Infusion done and more pain arrives 😞

Jul 30, 2016 7:01 AM

Ever since I got the infusion severe upper back pain has started. Hurts to breathe deep or even move. Jeez why oh why did I do this again. I don't know what's worse, the side effects or my normal pain and suffering. I can't get a break! Hopefully I won't get the pancreatitis this time

Vizallygirl, I'm sorry that you're having such a hard time. There were many times I had surgery to repair something and then was worse off for it. I've also had meds changed and had side effects that bother me more than the pain (pain I'm used to but other symptoms added to it put me over the edge!!) I hope you get to feeling better soon and know that we're all here for you. {{{Hugs}}}πŸ’•πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒ»πŸ˜Š

I've had an ACDF recently and it has caused the loss of the use of my left arm and as a side effect from the surgeon to gain access to my spine through the front of my neck, he had to clamp my voice box to one side and damage was caused. I have lost my singing voice (my darling wife and daughter say this is a good thing as I couldn't sing well anyway).
There are so many wonderful people on these forums, who can relate to you and understand the way such things affect us.
Try to think about positive things, even if it's just one thought, it may help you through the day
Kindest regards

Oh no! Sorry to hear that. Take a lot of vitamin C, I read that helps to prevent pain spreading to another body part. And helps the body heal. I hope you can rest and get some relief soon!

@ Apprenticeships, which disc was involved in your surgery? They're doing the ACDF on C3 Monday, and he's already warned me of possible damage to my vocal cords, esophagus, and diaphragm due to their close close proximity to the disc. Did you have any other issues that went away? I'm anxious to say the least, and stressed just trying to get things done that I know will be left undone for months. It's been so long ago from my previous surgeries (90s), I can't remember how I did things. Thanks for any suggestions you can give! πŸ™‚πŸ’•πŸ™πŸŒΈ
