Injured again...ugh!

Sep 09, 2019 9:13 AM

My hubby & I decided to try going to an antique store on 9/2/19, to see if we could find a hitch or storage cabinet for my kitchen. While walking (on the walker) my L-knee suddenly had a sharp pinching pain under the kneecap, followed by wrap around & over the kneecap, with a pop & burning pain at the top of the knee. I couldn't bear weight on it for 3 days & had to cancel appts to give my knee time to recover. It swelled badly but I kept it iced.

Then yesterday it happened again, but without the pinching pain underneath; just the burning and severe pain with weight bearing. This morning I can't bear my full, or even half weight on my leg due to the extreme pain on the top of the knee. Why oh why can't I get one thing well before something else breaks! 😭 My hubby had to remove the bathroom door again last night so I can get the walker through it. And hopping on my R-leg only is becoming painful to the R-groin muscle & hip joint.

I had to cancel all PT, since I only have 7 more visits available for the year. At least I was able to schedule to see orthopedic doc this afternoon for my knee. I hope & pray I haven't torn some tendon or ligament...not good with having connective tissue disease. This really sucks!

Oh NO! So sorry this happened. Good you got into doc. Prayfully nothing major happened. You just can't catch a break!

FlappysLady, I’m so sorry to hear about your knee and your having to endure more pain. Hopefully a couple days off it will be helpful. I sure hope you didn’t hurt it any more. Glad you were able to get in right away with the doctor. Man, you just can’t seem to be able to heal without another monkey wrench being thrown into your recovery. Take care.πŸŒ»πŸπŸ™

Thanks AnimalLover2 & Painwarrior! I saw the doc and he did X-rays, which of course only showed the encroaching OA. During his exam I thought I was going to throw up when he pressed an area to the lower right portion below the knee 😰. He's ordered an MRI on the 18 the and then I'll get the results on the 24th. He suspects a meniscus or tendon tear. Just my luck, because we know the CTD issues don't let me heal quickly! Oh well, I guess I'll be on the walker longer than planned. I'm beginning to feel like there really is a 🐡 on my back! Lol I hope everyone has a good day today. Hugs love & prayers for all! πŸ™‚β€πŸ™πŸŒΌ

If you are close to Athens, just down the road the hospital has water therapy pool. To me that would be the best place to go. I went there and loved it.

Thanks Shore, and I hope your rhyitzotomy works well for you.

Zetarlov, I don't live near Athens. But I'm actually checking out their Ortho surgeons as well as those at Emory, and at the Spine Center in Columbus. Either way I'll have a drive to make that won't be kind to my fibro & joints. Lol

Will be looking forward to your MRI results. Your CTD issues are really putting a πŸ’ wrench into it all. Sorry to hear of your dilemma FlappysLady. Wow hon your just falling apart! Hopefully you can get this done with and finally have your deserved rest. I’m still having ongoing problems with my bursitis of my left hip. Put that together with my chronic back/leg neck/arm pain and it gets to be to much at times. What can we do but do the best with what we have. πŸ€—πŸ˜˜πŸ’•πŸŒΈ

Lol Painwarrior! Falling apart in middle age must be normal because I know too many in our age bracket that's in the same boat. As they say, "It's all downhill after 50!" 😰
