So, I've been having issues with my cycle since end of February. Went in to see my gyn as I knew something was off. BP was off the charts at 160/110 at 2:30 pm. Avoided a trip to the emergency room by the skin of my teeth which I am thankful for. He was okay with letting it slide because he is aware now that I do have pseudotumor and the tap will be done Monday. I'm also grateful of the options that we discussed. Option 1: IUD which I'm not a big fan of, option 2: endometrial ablation, or option 3: hysterectomy(unwilling to do that at this time because of the mrsa). The key thing is that the increased ICP MUST be managed before we do anything else. It feels REALLY good to be listened to FINALLY!!!!!!!!!! Have to get a CBC and TSH done tomorrow morning, have one more appointment tomorrow and that is it for the week!!!!!
I'm sorry you're experiencing the health issues that you are experiencing, but I am so happy that you are feeling listened to! I know doctor can sometimes make you feel ignored, but I am so glad that you have someone who is listening to you and trying to help!!
And I'm eternally greatful that my BP was not checked today as it probably would have resulted in the same scenario. Just thankful I have a few days to recover before it starts all over again next week. Chronically, this new doc happened quite by accident. I was seeing one of the other docs in that practice since 1998. But I thought that I was NOT being listened too. So I decided to try again and it's a really good fit for me. I really used to be one who couldn't stand to go to the gyn at all ever. Now, I know that if I have an issue, I don't have to afraid to make an appointment.
