Intrathecal/Morphine Pump

Oct 18, 2014 12:20 PM

Has anyone here had experience with an intrathecal pain med pump? I had one implanted in July. The recovery for me hasn't been going very well.

I have had the Neurostimulator implanted a total of 4-5 times due ti breakage and/or failure. this month my pain management doctor said he wants me to have the pump put in. I don't know what to after so long... it's all hit or miss. I don't want another surgery and have it all be for nothing. Google luck to you

I know exactly what you mean. I feel like it was for nothing. They did tell me that it can take at least 6 months to begin to get some benefit from the pump. My doc is still in the process of increasing the dosage that I'm getting via the pump. I didn't let myself hope too much. My husband couldn't understand why.

I don't know if you are still active on here, but I'd love to catch up with you and see how you're doing. I just had the pump put in last July and I'm still having issues. Our timing is similar from reading your original post. Did things ever improve?

Ahermie, I'm sorry but I don't. I know others do. Good luck and a prayer you'll get the help you needed! 🙏🌼
