My name is jamie and im 24 years old. My rheumatologist has tentatively diagnosed me with fibromyalgia, I do not believe I have it. I dont suffer the wide spread intense pain or muscular pain, just pain in very specific joints and my spine. Began seeing the rheumatologist due to my family doctor believing it may have been RA,blood tests ruled that out. He automatically jumped to fibromyalgia. My neurologist believes I have CFS/ME with Possible ankylosing spondylitis and traditional arthritis, the last two will either be confirmed or denied by an MRI in January.
I'm glad you found us! I am 2 weeks new myself, and have learned a lot about pain, MEDS, and myself since joining. Entering my pain info daily is important, and has helped me see things about myself & my pain that I wasn't aware of before! And whether I just read other's posts, write one, or respond to one, I have a feeling of being understood and connected. Mainly, not alone or judged. I hope you find at least one or more positive aspects here, as I have!
I've only been on here a few months but I can say this is a very supportive forum! Very! Without it, seriously I don't know what I would do some days because no one really understands, not even family at times. My pain is strictly osteoarthritis & some nerve damage in my knee. Today the weather was cold this morning, 37 degrees after our lows had been around 65 or 70. This will be my first winter season, I can say I'm not looking forward to it.
I can say this app has been very useful in showing my pain chart entries to my doctors. I used to keep a handwritten journal, oh how this is so much better.
I too hope you find everything you're looking for here, I sure have over these months, and we're all here for each other.
I too am new to this site having posted just wants today, I have extensive pain but also a great bit of knowledge regarding the Genesis and the ability to combat it as necessary which I will gladly share on this site.this seems to be the only forum that understands chronic pain as we experience it. Welcome one and all!
Great to hear from all of you. I'm Frank and suffer from Traumatic Brain Injury or TBI (multiple blows to cranium or head concussion). It has also left me cognitively impaired. I was Only diagnosed 2 years ago. Before that I just had specialist after specialist treat symptoms with drugs. My wife is now my full time Caregiver (taking her vows very serious). I can't tell you all what having a forum like this means as there seem to be few that understand what real pain IS. Thanks again for participating in this forum.
